Listen, I respect Madeline Miller as an author, both from an artistic freedom standpoint and I just think she’s generally really good at what she does.

But I hate the way her SOA fans talk about female figures like Thetis, Briseis or Deidamia 💔 because I’ll see them conflate MM cannon with actual mythology and they end up mocking or trashing said women. In actual source material, they’re all victims of sexism or misogyny to varying degrees.
