during high school they started to drift apart since romeo was doing theater and smalls started playing volleyball but they were still in the same friend group with jack

they both got stoof up by their prom dates so they just kinda snuck up to the roof to wallow in self pity

wallowing in self pity eventually turned into cuddling which turned into a sleepover where they pulled an all nighter watching the weirdest movies they could find

the weekend after that they went on their first date at an amusment park, and of course being the cheesy motherfuckers they were, they had their first kiss on the top of the ferris wheel.
