Snack Day (tube) (Germany)
Yet another tube chip variant. I find it interesting that in general there doesn't seem to be a specific color that would be associated with sour cream & onion (most common seems to be blue), but with tube snacks the screams are always packaged in green.
Wheat is nowhere to be found and I think it has contributed to a rather nice texture on these chips. They're a little crunchy but also soften in your mouth just the right way. They're a little smaller than Pringles or the other tube snacks I've reviewed so far and honestly? Good choice. The risk of crumbs is smaller when I can comfortably fit the entire chip in my mouth.
The taste is... good? I wasn't expecting anything out of these considering the Snack Day track record. They have a good amount of taste and not too much salt. They have a unique herb-like side flavor that I had trouble pinning down, but once I read from the ingredients list that they have some black pepper and turmeric it all clicked. Really nice honestly, something new for once.
The only downside is that the flavoring ends up a little mild in the end. The tube snack format unavoidably means the potato flavor is also not the best. But in this nieche category I'd say we have our first good specimen.
