Mobsters, Violinists, and Terrorists, Oh My!
So I had a dream last night:
It began with me talking to a bunch of people about upcoming festivals, including the Blues and BBQ one (which is weird because they aren't even close to happening soon). We decided to go to said festival and so we set off.
As we walked, we came upon a house that we needed to walk through to get to the festival. We tried to sneak through but soon realized that it was a front for the mob. We got taken hostage and they tried to negotiate how to get a bunch of money in ransom from us. I somehow managed to talk them in to letting everyone go in exchange for my help on their next job, so everyone left and I stayed.
The mobsters explained to me that their next job would be to kidnap Asa Butterfield off of a train that was passing through the city. We gathered around the train tracks and waited for nightfall. As the train came along, we were somehow able to keep up with it but sprinting on foot. We all jumped on different parts of the car he was in and looked inside. He had two guards and was listening to some music while reading. One mobster opened the back door, took out one of the guards, and then just stood there as another mobster and I went through the front door. The second guard, after a surprisingly large period of time noticed everyone and sounded some alarm.
At this point I got really afraid that Asa might recognize me, as I was an extra in a movie with him, also I figured the plan had gone awry since the alarm was still going off, so I jumped off the train and hid.
I waited for some time for the train to pass and everything to quiet down and then got up. There were cops everywhere. I ended up just trying to play it cool and walk through their perimeter unnoticed, but I was found and taken aside by an eccentric looking, high-ranking officer that gave me some long speech about the moon and how science represents the pure good in man (this was by far the most insane part of the dream). As he ended told the others officers not to bother me as he walked vertically up a weird abstract-modernist statue and into space. After staring at the disappearing man in the sky for a while, I looked down and found myself and the statue in a large, grassy courtyard surrounded by skyscrapers and other large buildings.
Confused as to how I got in the courtyard, I wandered into a small, tented off area. It was apparently a Chinese/Mexican restaurant that also taught children violin. The owners were a large Mexican woman and her Chinese husband, who was currently teaching a bunch of kids violin (I must secretly be really racist). I introduced myself to them and told them I, too could play violin. I then offered to tech them a lesson and they happily agreed. They were very nice. The kids and the woman kept teasing the man for being mean and the man would get fake angry and stomp around. After a while of this the woman offered to make me lunch, which I happily accepted, and then I went on my way.
I walked back into the courtyard and saw a bunch of the mobsters from before dressed as Taliban with AK-47s walking slowly towards the restaurant (apparently they were secretly terrorists, awesome). I yelled at them to stop and that it wasn't worth it, but they kept solemnly walking into the tent area. I heard gunshots and saw fire and I ran away.
I wandered around the courtyard for a bit more time, when the mobster-terrorists stormed back into the courtyard and attacked me. They started looking a lot like the splicers from Bioshock. I ran and jumped into a previously non-existent cannon, which shot me to the top of the sculpture thing in the center. From there I found a gun and began shooting my assailants as the climbed up. It was intense, and then I woke up. Good times.
