Meet Eve, my danger noodl-
She's silencing me
If I were to do an independent study on snakes/reptiles for a high school credit, what specifically should I do it on? Tumblr help me
Iām raising a picky eater my snake made me blow dry her mouse twice for her before she took it š
Btw guys, it's not acceptable to tell someone you want to kill their pet, even if you don't like or have a phobia of the animal.
I-
8 foot snake. Okay? I'm trying to feed her. Open her cage, have the rat in the tongs, drop the rat immediately. Great. Wonderful. Now I can't dangle the rat. I can work with this though. Use a snake hook and thread it through the wiring. I can now wiggle the rat.
She. Can't. Find. The. Rat.
For five entire minutes. She keeps looking at me like this is somehow my fault.
She finally finds the rat. I see her two brain cells. They are not comprehending the situation. I attempt to help. It is still not processing. She just stares at it. Stares at me. Stares at it again. I have gone past annoyed at this point. I am now full on arguing with a python. Bargaining. Insulting. Begging. I have had better luck with toddlers.
After what must have been close to ten minutes after the original feeding attempt, she strikes.
Misses.
Gets bedding in her mouth.
I am near tears now. She will not try again. She has bedding in her mouth. This requires a tantrum. She will not let me help. Just looks at me like I've offended her family. Like it is somehow my fault she missed the rat a whole three inches from her face.
Attempts to spit it out. Several times. Her mouth was not designed for this. But she tries. Gags several times. Ends up staring at me with her mouth open. I attempt to guide her to her water with a snake hook.
This offends her.
She strikes.
Not at the hook.
At me.
I am behind a cage door of chicken wire.
She gets herself stuck. This deserves another tantrum. Calming down is not an option. Just letting go is not an option. She will not let me help.
I.
Am done. She can figure it out.
definitely not my usual post but im maybe getting a snake and when if i do, iāll need a name. iām thinking something dc related but iām not sure yet.
i was originally thinking a ball python since iāve heard theyāre good for first time owners, but iāve also heard they can be picky eaters, go on hunger strikes, and sometimes be defensive. iāve also been looking into african house snakes since theyāre usually really good, but they can be nervous and need a confident handler. i donāt know if i am one honestly. iāve held and picked up snakes before and felt fine, but those were medium to larger ones.
african house snakes are smaller and easier to house, but not very common as pets and i was planning on getting a rescue. so if anyone has good recommendations for a first time snake owner, or name ideas preferably dc themed, iād really appreciate it.
(And yes, I know corn snakes are good there the first anyone recommends but the speed makes me nervous)
