I GOT A SNAKE
I've wanted a snake ever since I was a kid. One of the first stuffed animals I had as a baby was a Beanie Baby snake. For years I would coil it around my wrist as though it were real. I would draw so many (anatomically inaccurate) snakes, I would roll up my blanket into a long tube and imagine I was sleeping with an anaconda, I would read anything and everything about snakes that I could find at the library. Most of my online usernames have been snake-related. The first birthday gift I asked for after moving in with my mom was a snake plushie.
AND NOW I HAVE ONE
I went halfway across the country to pick her up (small country but still). She's a ball python, normal het tristripe (not that I care about morphs), barely two years old.
I'm calling her Chestnut. So far she has shown zero braincell activity. She got stuck in the thermostat wires on day 1 (see below) and I had to lie on my back to unscrew the bolt that was holding the wires in place so she could get out. I love her so much.
