Inspiration: Artwork based on a not-quite-canon picture of Arthur Kirkland in a snake costume (I think the creator of hetalia was just answering a question about him and Halloween or something??)
About: Ok so theres a thing of ‘people liking a thing TOO much’ and boy was this one of them. Originally, Arthur did magic to make a better Halloween costume and became cursed, but heres the thing: the people I rped with back on DA loved this jerk Arthur, and even though I was trying to create conflict, this new Arthur was received with a very warm welcome (‘heres me stuggling but like, if you wanna take her as your wife or something- I’m fine with that’ ) so I made a little change. Arthur was still Arthur and it was still his body, but now he was being possessed by this being who called himself King. This didn’t… fix my problem as much as I would have liked it to, or even half as much, but as long as there was one or two people who were fighting for Arthur to come back, I put up with it. I ended up giving King this very lazy attitude (you know how Kristoff in frozen says, and sings, that reindeer are better than people? King feels the same way about snakes, snakes are much less complicated)
To be completely honest, I didn’t have fun rping King. He was supposed to not care at all, and when I was in the mood to do so I didn’t care!! But heres the thing I care way too much, so when people were so willing to bow to this new king, or some tried to get a softer side of him, I personally suffered because in my head and in my chest KING WOULDN’T GIVE A SHIT. This persisted onwards on to tumblr, where a total number of 0 people cared about Arthur, and between the two sites, I had to keep coming up with events where Arthur would appear. Somehow, King ended up with a kinda-mate, and a son (holy shit) and Arthur ended up stuck in the body of a small bunny boy who cant talk to anyone but the person (King’s son, Prince) who created the body. I wont say Arthur and King are sitting pretty and getting along, but they have put aside trying to kill each other until Prince could find a way to get King a new body?
What I liked about King: Hes such an asshole omg but hes a lazy asshole, he doesn’t have to prove his strength and he doesn’t want to take over the world; the dude just wants to live. At first, it was fun to fuck around with loved ones of the people who stood against king, but eventually he became this asshole trying to enjoy his fucking life. He got a back story (hes actually the runt of the litter, and his mother, who’s since devoured his father, barely knows about him and laughs at him once she realizes he didn’t die in infancy), and he even ran into trouble with this shady character who tortures immortal creatures. I liked it when people tried to call him out for something and hes just like ‘I have nothing to hide this is who I am if you don’t like it I can give you 50 paragraphs on why I don’t give a shit’ and when I got the muse for him, man I got the muse for him. I just wish I had more conflict instead of people bending over willingly tryin to get some of that double snake dick
