Luci and Marti grew into children. The former was a social, friendly little girl, while the latter was confident and full of boundless energy. Tragedy struck, however, when Luci attempted to skate on November ice that had not yet fully frozen; it cracked, dragged her under, and left Martina as the last remaining triplet. The whole family struggled under the weight of grief during that cold winter.
...thus it was not a surprise when Reina found herself with child once more. She comforted herself with the fact that she was a year away from forty. Though she enjoyed motherhood it was a relief to know her childbearing days were nearly over.
Nearly fifteen years of marriage hadn't yet dulled the spark between Reina and Gabriel Baxter.
Florian's nephews, Jonathan and Gideon, also had their birthdays. They turned three and one respectively. Jonny grew up into a little angel who always had a smile for his parents and uncle, while Gideon was a small, cautious thing, perhaps due to the traumatic circumstances of his birth.
Florian Sommerton became a teenager on a sharp March morning. He had never been a great fan of Parish Farm, small and crowded as it was, but the older he grew the more he despised it. He longed to go back home, to his real home, Sommerton Farm, where he had lived until he was nine. Consequently he fought often with Cecilia and Gladwin and escaped when he could to the garden, where, despite the late snowfall and the burden of daily chores, he spent many hours dreaming of the day he was old enough to return to the Farm.
Back at Baxter farm, both Theresa (daughter of Gabriel and Reina Baxter, the second-generation heirs) and Marcella (daughter of the late Luke and Sarah Baxter) had their birthdays. They grew up into adorable and well-tempered infants--Theresa blonde and calm like her father, and Marcella ginger and sunny like her late mother.
Soon after, Will Baxter grew up to become a sensitive, sickly infant. (He's still alive, though! That's what counts!)
