how do you pick your colors? theyre so pretty
ahh thank you!! There are a lot of tutorials and explanations on colour theory that I would rather not get into so I’ll try explain some of the things I personally like to do instead:
The best way to bring life into your colour palette is through contrast. So since most of my pieces are usually quite desaturated and grounded overall I like to use saturated shadows, ease up on the midtones and then adjust my hue slightly + desaturate for the highlights.
Actually as I was writing this I remembered @routexx made a way better thing here and this video called “Understanding Color” by Blender Guru that I both really.. value (;w;)
Also photo references of nature can work as great foundations- build a folder of pretty landscapes/skies! I found these to help increase my variety and knowledge of colour placement, especially when I get stuck on what to pick next.
tl;dr - use routexx’s tutorial and watch that video
Hope this helps!!

If we could step outside of time and look at ourselves without any temporal or biological processes weighing us down, we’d see ourselves embedded in poignant tableaus. We’d see clearly that every moment has heft and significance. We’d get to investigate ourselves and our world from a fresh perspective. Snatti gives us a chance to see what that might be like, each piece feeling like a special moment, unimportant details smoothed, like in dreams we half-remember, helping us to focus on mood and message both.
