Mikasa, the beautiful protector
I am glad I am living to witness these moments in the SnK manga that I had truly hoped would happen for quite some time and it finally did:
Mikasa, protecting the little girl who killed her only best friend/sister and unknowingly to be related to an old friend and their known enemy.
One of the reasons why I think Mikasa never hesitated to do so is because Gabi was on her knees begging for sweet Falco's life. They were just kids. Remember what Reiner said on top of Wall Rose five years ago? They were just kids that didn't know better.
No amount of therapy or counselling (which are not in existence yet that period) could undo the extreme conditioning that Marley imposed on Gabi but I believe Mikasa would be the right person to mentor & guide Gabi.
I could only hope that Mikasa could be the one who sheds light on Gabi's unreasonable hatred through mercy, compassion and love.
Could it be the beginning of a beautiful She-Ackerman & She-Braun adventure together?

They changed the perspective. Instead of holding her shoulders & asking her is she hurt, Mikasa tilted Gabi's face gently instead. Would love to see Mikasa pulling Gabi against the crook of her neck in a hug, but this is good too! Mom!Kasa is so soft & tender ❤
Reiner, don't you worry. Mikasa got your cousin! 😻
