Happy birthday @snogfairy <3<3<3 Have a lovely rest of your day!
Lucy wakes up confused and warm, her head aching with what she already knows is a nasty hangover. Groaning, she rolls over, nearly falling off the couch. She catches herself at the last second, swearing under her breath before sitting up. She sniffs, squinting at the harsh light of the morning sun, and frowns when she hears something sizzling. Curious, Lucy wonders is Cana stayed the night, considering she always ends up on the couch when that happens. Lucy stands on wobbly legs, making her way to the kitchen slowly, grumbling to herself about never drinking again.
It’s not Cana in the kitchen.
Lucy freezes at the threshold, blinking rapidly when she notices a man standing in front of her stove. His back is to Lucy, and it’s a very nice, well-muscled back. Her eyes trace his form, a brow quirking when she sees pink hair something dark poking through the strands. He hums to himself and Lucy shakes her head, amused to see her supposed one-night-stand cooking breakfast.
She’s about to call out to him when she notices a weird, circular shape on her kitchen floor, chalk smeared across the tiles. Now that she’s looking, she can see that her kitchen is an absolute disaster. There’s a large crack in her table and one of the chairs is laying in a pile, completely splintered.
What the fuck?
Mystery man turns around, smiling when he sees her. “Mornin’, Sunshine!” he greets, grin revealing a row of wicked, sharp teeth. Lucy glances down at his toned chest, gaze following the outline of his stomach muscles. He clears his throat suddenly, and Lucy’s eyes snap back up. He quirks a brow and that’s when Lucy notices the spiraled horns poking out from his messy hair.
Is that some kind of roleplay thing? Did she bring home some guy with a fantasy kink?
She shakes her head, snorting. “I’m too hung-over for this,” she murmurs, mostly to herself. She ignores his wide eyes, shuffling over to her poor, poor table and pulling out the chair that isn’t destroyed. She plops down ungracefully, uncaring of mystery man.
Dye-job laughs, shoulders shaking. His smile is all teeth and Lucy shivers when she gets a good look at them. Good lord, she really hopes he didn’t use those last night.
“You definitely look it,” he tells her, snickering when she glares back at him. He leans back against the stove, seemingly uncaring of the heat.
Lucy rolls her eyes. “Why are you still here, again?” she snaps, in no mood for his teasing. All she wants to do is crawl back into bed, but first she needs to get this guy out of her house. She can’t sleep with a stranger here, not when she’s mostly sober.
Dye-job, however, stares at her like she’s grown a second head. He drops the spatula in his hand, arms going slack at his sides. “Because you made a contract with me?” He says it more like a question than a fact, and that only confuses her more.
Holy balls, did she get herself into some kind of Fifty Shades shit? Because she’ll call the fucking police if he—
“I’m sorry. What?” she blurts, blinking at him rapidly. She shoves back her intrusive thoughts, not wanting to jump to conclusions. Maybe she promised him a kidney or something. Or Cana bought weed and said Lucy would pay for it. It wouldn’t be the first time that’s happened.
Though, usually they just riffle through her drawers instead of making breakfast first. There’s a first for everything, apparently.
His head cocks to one side cutely. “You know,” he waves his hands around between them, as if Lucy’s supposed to understand what that means, “a contract. A deal.” He looks at her like she’s stupid and Lucy considers breaking her chair over his head.
She rolls her eyes,, sneering at him. She knows what a damn contract is. “What kind of deal?” she asks, instead of yelling at him. She’s tired and still a little drunk and she just doesn’t have the patience for this.
He shrugs, turning away from her and grabbing a plate off the counter. “Well, you summoned me, so—”
“Summoned you?” she cuts him off, incredulous. Holy shit, this must actually be some weird kink. Did Cana set her up with one of Freed’s DND friends? Because if so, Lucy’s going to kill her.
His smile is tight and a bit sarcastic when he looks at her again. “If you could just let me finish, that would be great,” he snarks, eyes narrowing just the slightest. Lucy rolls her eyes, but says nothing, motioning for him to get on with it. “You know,” he tells her ,“a summoning.” He points at the chalk circle on the floor. “Pentagram.” He knocks a hand against his horns, Lucy surprised to hear the thunk as he taps them with his knuckles. “Demon.” He holds out the plate towards her, Lucy’s mouth dropping open in horror. “Eggs?”
He smiles. Lucy blinks, surprised and a bit horrified. Dye-job continues to hold the plate in front of her, waiting patiently for a reaction. She inhales sharply, the smell of the eggs suddenly making her feel very, very sick.
Lucy glances down at the table, noticing a salt shaker only a few inches from her hand. She picks it up, weighing it in her hand as she narrows her eyes at the supposed demon. He frowns, confused, only for his eyes to widen in horror as Lucy reels her arm back. She throws the salt shaker at him, hitting the middle of his forehead.
That’ll show him.
The salt did not, in fact, show him. It only made him a bit cranky and unbearable.
He’s been whining about it for a the past ten minutes, and followed Lucy into the living room when she thought her head was going to explode from all the bitching.
“I thought salt was supposed to get rid of demons,” she grumbles, burying her head in her hands. Lucy sighs, hoping this is all just some elaborate prank. She can deal with a prank. She can’t deal with some hell-spawn lurking around her apartment.
He—Natsu, he called himself Natsu—sneers, rolling his eyes. “Yeah,” he agrees, giving her a smile that’s all sharp teeth and no humor. “Salt,” he snaps, glaring as he rubs at the red mark between his brows. Lucy thinks he’s pouting, but she doesn’t know if pointing that out would subject her to eternal damnation. She’d rather not risk it. “Not the entire damn shaker!”
She didn’t believe him at first, in some sense, she still doesn’t, when she hit him his eyes turned red. That’s not normal. That’s so far from normal and honestly, she can deal with summoning a demon more than she could handle some weird Lord of the Rings role-play, or whatever the hell he might have been into. She would not tolerate that, not in her house and not on the first date.
He’d have to wait until after the fifth, if anything.
Lucy snarls back at him, hands tightening into fists. She glares at him from the opposite side of the couch, debating the pros and cons of kicking him in his stupidly attractive demon face. “Oh, because this is my fault!”
Natsu’s lips press into a thin, unamused line, though there’s a hint of humor in his eyes. Lucy would guess his pride is wounded more than anything else. “Well, you did summon me, Sweetheart,” he reminds her, clucking his tongue at her while narrowing his eyes.
She rolls her eyes, sinking back into the couch. Lucy has decided that he’s no immediate threat. For all his big, scary demon talk, he hasn’t so much as touched her, so either he’s bluffing about something, or he’s really a big softy. Maybe both. “Can’t you just go back?” she asks him, annoyed.
“If I could,” he says slowly, sharp, menacing eyes locking with hers, “don’t you think I would have done that by now?” Lucy just shrugs. It’s not like she knows what demons can and can’t do. They sit in silence for a moment before Natsu quirks a brow, looking at her curiously. “You know, you’re taking this all very well.”
She blinks back at him, head tilting to the side curiously. “What were you expecting?” she blurts, confused. Is there some kind of etiquette for demon summoning? Was she supposed to throw herself out the window or drown herself in the bathtub? Maybe call the police?
Natsu shrugs. “More screaming,” he says simply, eyes shining with amusement. “And fire,” he adds after a moment.
Sounds lovely.
“Sounds like my last midterm,” she tells him, laughing bitterly. School is hell and she wants to die, but she refuses to give this demon anything she doesn’t want to. He can suck it. “So you’re here because...” she trails off, waving her hand slightly as she waits for him to continue.
He rolls his big, green eyes, already having explained things once. She kind of wants to punch him in the face. “Because you made a contract.” He shrugs again, and Lucy promises that if he does it again, she’s going to grab an entire bag of salt and dump it on his head. She’ll laugh as he melts or does whatever demons do when covered in salt.
He grins, wide and toothy, and Lucy almost regrets asking. Almost. At least he’s not pouting anymore. Baby. It probably didn’t even hurt that much. “I do you a favor and then you owe me,” he says, low and rough and if Lucy shivers it’s definitely because she’s cold.
Lucy inhales sharply, wetting her lips, momentarily pleased when he follows the motion with his eyes. “And what do I owe you?” she breathes back, not nearly as nervous as she should be. What’s the worst that can happen?
“Nothing important,” he tells her, tongue swiping over his sharp teeth. “Just your soul.”
Well, fuck her.
Lucy smiles suddenly, batting her eyelashes at him. Natsu seems taken aback, but says nothing as he stares. “Can I see the contract, please?” she asks him, reaching out and wiggling her fingers. He frowns, cautious, but hands her a single sheet of paper. Lucy grimaces as she sees her name written at the bottom, sloppy and loopy and tinged red with what she really hopes isn’t blood.
She rips it in half. Once. Twice. Three times. Then more until it’s only scraps against the couch.
He blinks back at her, surprised, but not angry. “You can’t just rip it in half,” he tells her, though he does look amused at her efforts. And the mocking kind of amusement, the kind that makes her think he wanted to do the same thing. “That doesn’t make it void.” He sounds bitter when he says it, but Lucy doesn’t bother asking why.
“I was drunk!” she snaps back, fishing for legality reasons. For the first time in her life, she’s glad her dad was a lawyer, it gives her a little bit of an edge of this punk. “By all accounts, the contract shouldn’t even be legal!” she tells him, momentarily proud of herself. She’s fighting, at least she hasn’t burst into tears or anything.
He shakes his head. “That’s not how it works in Hell.”
She bares her teeth at him, then throws a pillow at his face. “Well, we’re not in hell are we, Demon Boy?” she growls at him, gaining his immediate attention. “The contract was made here, that makes it void.”
Natsu doesn’t look so sure, but he also doesn’t seem to be putting up too much of a fight, something Lucy finds suspicious. “My part of the contract was written in Hell though,” he reminds her, a bit sadly. There’s a heaviness to his gaze, and it makes her tingle everywhere. Maybe he’s seducing her. “Realm Laws state that that makes it legal.”
“Well, I wasn’t aware of these Realm Laws,” she argues, head held high. “Which,” she glares at him pointedly, “you failed to warn me about.” He has the decency to look sheepish. “This makes it a lie by omission. The deal is void.”
His throat bobs with a hard swallow. “I love it when you talk dirty to me,” he jokes, lips twisting into a tight smile. Lucy blinks back, unsure if he’s flirting with her or not. Isn’t there some kind of rule against that? Or something? “I still get your soul though,” he tells her, voice tinged with melancholy. “Human rules don’t apply.”
Lucy bites her lip, thinking of any loophole she can use. Maybe she should just run for the salt while he’s distracted. That could work. Or maybe she can trick him into giving her soul back? He head snaps up, gaze determined as she comes up with an idea. “How about a deal?” she asks him, practically purring.
Natsu’s eyes go wide, but his voice remains low and firm, “We already made a deal.”
“A different deal,” Lucy challenges, leaning forward and shifting onto her knees.
His brow furrows, but she knows he’s considering it. His eyes flick over her form, slow and mesmerizing. “What kind of deal?”
Lucy grins. “I win, I get to keep my soul,” she tells him, shifting closer to him. She may not be intimidating, but she knows how to get what she wants. And right now, she really wants to keep her soul inside her body.
Natsu laughs, his head thrown back as his entire body shakes. “No,” he chuckles, scoffing slightly. “I have your soul in writing,” he reminds her, looking at her like she’s crazy. Yeah, she’s not the one with demon horns and freaky eyes, he can fuck off with that look.
“Yeah,” she agrees, crossing her legs beneath her and settling in front of him. He watches her, gaze hesitant but curious. “But we both know you want to do this the right way.” She’s fishing here, but she’s pretty damn sure he doesn’t look very happy about taking her soul. Would have done it already if he really wanted to, not spent a half-hour arguing with her about it. She figures he’s supposed to make things quick.
He swallows thickly, but manages a sarcastic smile. “What?” he snaps, voice weaker than before. “You think I’m some moral compass?” he laughs, but his eyes flick away from hers, clearly uncomfortable. He shifts awkwardly on the couch, sharp teeth pricking at his bottom lip as he worries it.
“I think you don’t like taking advantage of people,” she corrects him, arms wrapping around her knees. Looking at him up close, he doesn’t seem nearly as scary as she thought he’d be. He doesn’t look like a monster, he just looks like a regular college kid. You know, if you subtract the teeth and devil horns. “Tell me I’m wrong,” she challenges him, looking him right in the eyes.
Natsu wets his lips, eyes searching hers for something. She shivers under his gaze, a pleasant heat curling through her stomach. After a long moment he swallows, inhaling deeply before shaking his head. His gaze is determined when he looks at her, expression steely. “What kind of deal?” he asks, leaning in just the slightest.
She grins back at him. “Rock paper scissors,” she tells him, whispering it in the small distance between them. “I win, I keep my soul.” She wets her mouth, teeth pulling at her lip. “You win and it’s yours.” He nods slowly, and Lucy feels some of her nerves disappear. “Best two out of three.”
He snorts, but his lips are twisted into a half-smile. “That it?” he asks, raising a brow at her. He probably hasn’t faced many demands from people being a soul-sucking demon and all. She’s sure people have bargained before, but she doesn’t dwell on the thought, not sure she wants to think about how many people have done the same thing as her and lost.
She considers his question, an idea coming to mind. She blurts it without a second thought, already knowing it’s a wonderfully stupid thing to say. “You don’t win any rounds, you take me out for lunch,” she tells him, surprising the both of them. She’s hungry and he’s cute, sue her. Besides, it’s a win-win.
Both of his eyebrows shoot towards his hairline, his eyes going wider than she would have thought possible. “Are you trying to seduce me?” he teases, something dark sweeping across his expression, though not in a bad way. There’s something hungry there, and she shivers under his intense look, briefly wondering if she’s making a mistake.
“Is it working?” she asks him, gaze flicking down to his lips briefly. He swallows and Lucy grins.
The first round goes quickly. Lucy rock smashes his scissors, much to her pleasure. Natsu doesn’t seem too heartbroken either, so she figures she was right in guessing he really doesn’t want her soul. He even flashes her a grin when he thinks she isn’t looking.
She squares her shoulders for the second, knowing she has to win now, before he can get the chance to match her. She knows her confidence will waver if he gets a win, and she refuses to lose. Her eyes meet his and then there’s a soft series of taps against their palms.
Her paper beats his rock and when Lucy looks up he’s smiling at her, lips pulled back to reveal his teeth. She’s surprised he doesn’t look the least bit disappointed.
She stands from the couch feeling his eyes on her as she leaves the room, walking down the hall towards her bedroom. Lucy tosses him a look over her shoulder, winking at him. “I like Italian food,” she tells him, smiling when he nods at her.
And if she fucks the demon later? Well, than she fucks the demon later.
VERY messy, VERY basic sketches of Natsu and a touch of Cana for @snogfairy 's Cornchip AU I hope you like them! I'll finish them later after school :3
This au is carved into my skin now. *screams in the distance*

I was looking through my old pictures because a friend's birthday is coming up, but instead I stumbled across something else entirely. This is from 2-3 years ago and adorable and shows how time really does fly<3
