Hook: Pirates and Princes

Fandom: OUAT Pairing: Hook x Male!Reader, one sided Charming x Male!Reader Summary: Snow knows more than what people think she does. And every day her heart breaks. Request: Maybe work something off this?  Snow knew something was off the moment he came with Hook. That pirate that her husband spends his days with, Charming would say that it was because they were friends back home, but she knows the way he looks at the reader is not of just friendship. Hook and the reader are together, and she knows it breaks Charming’s heart that they are-with how happy they smile at each other. The two pirates and the broken Prince.  (I’m gonna sign everything now as LH. :3 )

Snow knew she was observant. She knew her stuff, and she knew her husband. She knew that something wasn’t right the moment she saw David, her Charming, spending more and more of his time with those pirates.

And he would come back at the end of the day, saying how he knew Y/N, we’re old friends, Snow, he’d tell her. I want to just reunite a little. I missed him.

But Snow knew it was a lie. She knew when David lied.

Snow White knew that Hook and Y/N were involved romantically, and she didn’t mind that fact. She liked to think of herself as someone who was accepting of any and every person. So if someone wasn’t straight, then that wasn’t her business. If they needed to come out, and they happened to come out to her, then she would be fine with it.

It was just the off feeling in her stomach. How she’d catch her Charming looking at Hook and Y/N, eyes on Y/N for just a moment or two too long. It made something twist in her chest, and she tried not to think about that. She tried not to think about those bad thoughts in her head, how her Charming didn’t want her anymore.

And it somehow broke her even further to know that Y/N and Hook were perfectly happy together. She knew the two had searched for each other. Y/N had been like her and David, in the town with no memories of his prior past. And once the curse had broken, he’d vanished to the docks, searching for a man that hadn’t found his way to Storybrooke yet. She never knew why, but she figured that if they lost each other, they’d go to the docks to find each other again.

She had been there when the pirates found each other again. Snow hadn’t seen emotions on Hook’s face aside from anger by that point. But the softness, the shock and fear and love in his face when he caught sight of Y/N? It made her heart ache, the relief that he had found the one person he’d been searching for. She could remember the way Y/N had shouted at him, telling Hook to stop taking so long. She remembered the way Hook pulled Y/N into a hug, embracing each other as they kissed. She could still hear the way Hook had apologised, the way his voice was shaky, promising to never leave Y/N’s side ever again.

And Hook kept that promise.

Snow watched the way Hook leaned over, whispering something to Y/N, his lone hand finding its way to the man’s leg. She saw the way Y/N smiled, like he was trying to hold it back, unable to because he was looking at the love of his life. She glanced at her husband and saw the longing in his eyes, in the lines of his face. And she understood. 

Snow supposed if she were in her husband’s shoes, she might feel the same way towards Y/N. He was a nice man, witty and nice, but determined and dangerous when he had to be. She supposed that was what made him a pirate.

Hook kept his hand on Y/N’s thigh, a sort of soft smile on his face, eyes full of love that Y/N wasn’t looking at yet, eyes on his phone in his left hand, right one on top of Hook’s. Snow looked away, wondering when the last time her Charming had looked at her like that.

She looked over in time to see Y/N say, “Want to head out?” Snow saw the way Hook smiled, hanging on Y/N’s every word. She glanced over and saw the hurt in David’s face.

“Do you want to leave?” she asked her husband. It took him a few seconds to react. In that time the two men had gotten up and left the café. He blinked, tearing his gaze away to look at her.

“What? Oh, uh, yes, Snow. I think that would be good.”

Snow and her Charming got up and left, and she found that they and Y/N and Hook were taking the same route.

She got to see the playfulness in the pirates’ relationship, the pushing and nudging. The two men laughed, joking and teasing, being sweet and kind in equal measures of being idiots towards each other. She could hear the insults they threw at each other, quick witty comebacks to each one. Hook pulled Y/N close to him, pressing a kiss onto the man’s lips, both of them smiling.

Snow was hyperaware of how silent she and David was.

She knew she once had true love with her husband, but she wondered if there was something more, something cruel that took it away from her. Hook and Y/N had their own true love, and she knew that if soulmates were real, those pirates would be. But she lost sight on if she and her husband was. Each day, she found another way to break her own heart. She wondered if it was better if she did it to herself than let David keep on doing it unintentionally.

“I know you love him,” she said, voice barely coming out in a whisper. She couldn’t look at her husband from their spots on their bed. They had long since retired to bed, and not a word had been shared. “I know you do, I can see it in your face. Don’t try to hide it.”

“Snow …” David said softly, and she shook her head, silencing him.

“We both know you love him, but we both know he loves Killian Jones. They’re soulmates. True love. I know you love Y/N, but maybe you should accept the fact he doesn’t love you the same way.”

David was quiet for a moment before he spoke up, “I know. I’m sorry.”

“I’m sorry too.”

Snow fell to sleep dreaming of pirates and broken princes.

Stannis & Daenerys- A Study on Political Jon

Jon Snow has been put in a lot of touch situations with people that could kill him. Does Jon act the Northern Fool? Or has he finessed his way out of these situations?

For Daenerys Targaryen, there’s one character I’ve found whose interactions with Jon are startlingly similar: Stannis Baratheon.

So there are tons of parallels in the mindsets of Stannis and Daenerys. Both believe they are destined to save the world. Stannis was wrong. I strongly believe that Daenerys is also wrong.

Stannis foolishly thinks the Wildlings will fight for him. Daenerys foolishly thinks Jon and the North will fight for her. 

Jon tells Stannis the Wildlings won’t kneel or fight for him. Jon tells Daenerys he is not there to kneel. At this point, Jon believes an alliance could still be on the table without his kneeling.

Both a have a disturbing penchant for burning people alive.

More on this later.

Both demand that others bend the knee. Jon doesn’t seem too thrilled with either character’s demands.

This part is just bizarre. Their prompts to Jon Snow.

Heroes in stories are put in time crunches by the demands of other characters. Heroes don’t make other heroes feel rushed or like they’re in a race to beat the clock. Strangely, the scene with Daenerys is after she grants his Dragonglass request. The next scene J&D share is the cave scene where she demands he bend the knee again. I fully believe she wants him to hurry up and mine the Dragonglass because she thinks that will make him bend the knee.

But Jon does  feel indebted to each of them for pretty big reasons.

So does Jon bend the knee if he feels like he must to survive? Does he know how to navigate these tricky situations?

Jon knows what he’s doing. He bent the knee for Stannis after he ran down Mance’s army. He bent the knee to Tormund (thinking he was Mance) before that when he thought it might save him.

How do I know Jon bent the knee twice already but didn’t really mean it?

I’ve seen more parallels in how Jon deals politically with Stannis and Daenerys than with any other characters. The books expand more on his interactions with Mance, too, but for show purposes this seems mostly compressed into the Stannis story line.

Just because he’s willing to appease someone politically does not mean he’s always telling them the truth nor does it mean he forgets who he is.

So here’s a last bonus...

Just something I've been thinking about since the s7 finale: that look Jon gives Daenerys when they're having sex. When they stop kissing and he stares at her. It's so strange. He's not in love. We've seen Jon snow in love and it looked nothing like that. He looked upset to me. It's kind of what sealed the deal for me on believing that Jon is finally playing dirty politics. He's manipulating Daenerys and isn't happy about it (hence the look) but he knows he has to

Because Jon isn’t a ruthless shit -he has a conscience, and I think he would feel conflicted over taking advantage of someone’s feelings for him. But I do think he’d still do it -especially with the North and humanity on the line.

I mean, we could be wrong -of course NONE of us know what’s going to unfold for sure …but considering the all-around oddness of season 7, something just ain’t passing the smell test, and people are trying to make sense of it.

It’s a long wait to season 8, Nonny! 😳 lol

OK SO it really bothered me that Jon didn't just stay neutral when Cersei asked him to BUT now that i've had time to think about it, I think Jon is listening to Sansa here. He doesn't trust Cersei AT ALL so I think him not doing what she wants is because he thinks it's already a lost cause so instead he is making sure that he butters Danielle up to keep D and her dragons in the fight. It would be stupid to promise something knowing Cersei won't hold her end of the bargain. Jon trusts Sansa.
