Every week I'm mailing these lovely little light blue packages, each sealed with love and a prayer! Inside you'll find all sorts of things like #sewasaint doll fabrics, prints for the #snowballsaints quilt, and panels for any number of our free sewing classes (link to classes in profile). It's a gift for me to be able to do this as my now full-time job; each package feels like a continuation of that gift as I share the beauty and truth of our faith with customers all across the globe! #cslentipj I try to keep my packaging waste to a minimum, so all that's included is the external wrap (usually these lovely blue envelopes, but larger orders come in brown packaging) and an information sheet inside specific to the product you purchased. I'm honestly a minimalist at heart, and stopped sending "extras" (stickers, business cards, tissue paper wrapping) years ago...and haven't looked back since. It’s here!! I'm so excited to introduce you to our newest pattern and fabric combination, #snowballsaints "Connected". This beautiful pattern was inspired by our sisters and brothers in Christ, and how we are all connected to one another no matter which side of heaven we sit. The pattern itself is designed to look like the connected links of a chain-link fence; the two fabrics wind their way around each other, surrounding each saint and connecting one person to the next. I love love this pattern so much! Sharing some of my favorite photos, as well as some photos from our pattern test team so be sure to swipe to see all the images. Depending on the colors you choose, the “Connected” pattern takes on an entirely different look, doesn't it? This quilt pattern was designed with snowball blocks (the saints) on point; each of the 24 saints span both the globe and time in their diversity. The quilt finishes at 24”x28”, a wonderful lap quilt or baby quilt size, but you can always make it larger (or smaller) by adding borders along the edges. Carefully positioned on the opposite side of this quilt is a lovely all-white binding, ready to be sewn. I love these #wonderclips - they hold the binding on place as I sew both the front and back of the binding (yes, I’ve been converted to an “I sew my binding” person in most cases anymore!”). Plus, they come in a rainbow of colors - how fun is that? 🌈 With all the color in this #snowballsaints quilt, I couldn’t imagine any color except white as binding! How about you? These #snowballsaints are Just. So. Colorful. Like each of us, each saint is uniquely designed to best represent iconic imagery created in his or her image. The bright vibrant tones span the entire rainbow - which is why I couldn't imagine using anything but rainbow fabrics when sewing with this panel. I'm curious: if you were working with this saint panel, would you use rainbow fabrics, too? Or would you balance in solids along the way? In case you're wondering (I knew you were!), this panel and accompanying pattern will be available on Monday with the full reveal of the quilt. I couldn't resist sharing a sneak peek of the #snowballsaints quilt that's being released on Monday! You guys, this has been a dream for months now, and it took a gentle nudge from @tamarinis to get it done (thank you, friend). The quilt top is complete and hanging on my design wall, the back is complete and pressed, and all that's left is to quilt and bind. A huge shoutout to the pattern test team who is tirelessly working behind the scenes to test the pattern for you - I'm hoping to have it ready to release, along with the Snowball Saints panel, on Monday, February 22nd. Fingers crossed and prayers said that it all comes together in time!
