bezi headcanons re: pets and animals

he adores animals of all species and kinds, and responds aggressively to animal cruelty

he will steal animals that an owner is neglecting

he cries for days straight when his pets companion animals die. weeks, if he loved them a lot

he will go catatonic when his ferrets Grub and Bug die; it will be like losing his sons all over again

bezi hateshateshateshateshaaates when people hunt purely for sport. especially terrible trophy hunters, he will track down and hunt himself. he dismembers the bodies and buries the pieces across the world; hetran belief holds that this will curse their soul to a restless and agonizing afterlife

he is ever so very gentle with all animals, but firm when he needs to be

he can communicate w nearly all animals; his omnilinguality extends to their tongues as well

hetran belief towards animal afterlife is a bit different than towards sentients: if you give purpose and meaning to any of the remains, the animal will live on and thrive in the afterlife. he brings bones of dead wildlife and roadkill to hetran temples, where they're put in places of honor. his homes are also filled with animal remains; skulls on display, bones and other remains made into knives and tools and respectful decorations

if youre an animal abuser thats grounds for immediate unfriending. rudeness to animals is usually, too.

his voice sometimes gets so squeaky around cute animals that it goes right out of the range of what humans can hear

hes constantly threatening to beat and kill his companion animals bcuz they are too cute to live, but is only ever very careful and gentle and respectful when handling them

actually he holds his cats when they dont want to be held but he makes compromises with them to do it

he instinctively mimics the body language of animals hes around, and often happy-squints like a cat whenever you pet or hug him or give him a gift

hes very quick to step in and chastise ppl who are mistreating their animals or arent reading the animals body language

hell risk his life to save most animals, esp from fires and floods
