Twitter stuff part 3/4 it’s BERTIE!

When you catch up, are you going to start engaging with fan things more? Just wondering if you're into reading fanfiction at all, because there's some /good/ long stuff to read.

to be honest, once I realized I was caught up with the anime, I immediately went on an AO3 binge, and I’ve been reading BnHA fic pretty much since then. that’s one of the reasons it took me so long to finish the Overhaul Arc; once I got to the slow part of the arc, fanfiction got even more tempting, and I got pretty good at putting off reading more of the manga. I think I’ve got more than 200 BnHA fics bookmarked at this point. and most fics are pretty good at tagging for spoilers, so as long as I avoid stuff with spoiler warnings for things I haven’t caught up to yet, it’s not too hard to stay relatively spoiler free still.

I would ask people for recs, but I can be fairly picky (not to mention slow to do stuff), so I’ve learned it’s usually better not to so that I don’t end up feeling guilty for not reading everything that’s recced. but on the other hand, it can be hard to find good genfic (which is my favorite), so it’s tempting to ask all the same. I just get really particular when it comes to stuff being in character. I care about that more than anything else – for me if a fic feels IC I will overlook any number of grammatical or spelling or even plot issues to a degree. but on the other hand, a fic can be a totally masterful and gorgeous piece of writing and I will still click the back button with no hesitation if something feels really off with the characters. and obviously the question of what’s “in character” is super subjective, so yeah.

I will say that I definitely plan on following a whole shitton of new blogs once I’m caught up and don’t have to worry about spoilers. and the amount of fanart I reblog will probably increase tenfold. that’s something I’m very much looking forward to for sure. it’s definitely going to be great to be able to fully engage with the fandom and have my dash fully overtaken with BnHA goodness lol
