Summary:
We were twenty-something kids on rigged-up motorbikes, drunk on gin, adrenaline, and each other. The city was our playground, the night belonged to us. We were too high, too hard, too wrapped up in the taste of each other's mouths to notice the bodies piling up in our wake. Cassandra's voice on the burner phone every morning was the only thing that still felt like a leash. "Remember why you're there, Agent." Yeah, yeah. I remembered. I'd read the files until my eyes bled: kids turning blue in alleys, mothers selling wedding rings for one more rock, entire neighbourhoods hollowed out. I'd been so fucking righteous once. Ready to burn the Evanuris to the ground with my own two hands. Then I started living it. With him. And somewhere between the blood on my knuckles and the way he moaned my name when he came undone, the mission got fuzzy. _____ An undercover agent infiltrates the Evanuris syndicate by getting close to its sharpest, cruelest prodigy. Guess who the prodigy is. Guess who starts fucking him anyway. Guess how fast things go to shit.
