Latula Pyrope SPRITE EDIT!
ever since i first saw it, i felt that Latula's spiite looked a bit. weird. i've seen a fanmade sprite and i preferred it A LOT over the og. however i could not for the life of me find a high quality version. so i took the matters intwo my own hands and made this sprite edit! i aimed for a more accurate translation of her openbound talksprite onto spritemode.

You mentioned in this post that Furious, Wodensfang, and Little Tooth's species doesn't have a specific name because it's so rare, but their tendency to bond with Hiccups could inspire one.
Consider: Fatetwisters. In the books the word "hiccup" seems to be something of a euphemism for "their very existence is a defiance of Fate Itself" - see: Excellinor figuring out Hiccup's identity because the supposed destinies of his parents didn't match up with what actually happened, all the various times Hiccup is called an accident/mistake, Stoick being banished because he didn't abandon Hiccup at birth "as is the fate of all runts", etc. Plus, Furious says multiple times that he's looked into the future and seen that Hiccup will be the end of all dragons, and in Book 12 it's mentioned that Seadragonus Giganticus Maximuses experience the past, present, and future simultaneously. Perhaps they have some kind of secret sixth sense that keeps drawing them back to the "Boys-Who-Should-Not-Have-Existed" that always ended up rewriting destiny - twisting fate, if you will - over the ages.
Also, "Fatetwister" is just a super cool name in general. Admittedly it doesn't really scream "this is a giant dragon that lives in the sea" but... well, neither do "Red Death" or "Doomfang," honestly.
FATETWISTERS!!! That's amazing??!!! Honestly that's such a rad name to classify a species of dragon that tends to find its way to a Hiccup one way or another <33 that's just brilliant
