captain mactavish is a mother hen. goes around snatching cigs from his soldier's mouths (ghost) when he sees that it's the third one in an hour. does rounds around the barracks at two am, checking if everyone is alright and asleep, as they should be. has a couch in his office, just in case one of them wakes up screaming, or can't find it in himself to rest. ghost and roach are there often, and they both have some of their shit scattered around soap's place. it's paranoia, a deep-rooted fear that he's not doing a good enough job of being a captain, a role he took not of his own volition. he still feels like he's inadequate, not right for this insane amount of responsibility thrown at his head, but he feels less like he's drowning when he can make sure that at least for a little while, they're all safe and sound.
