Before both the comics and the story continue moving forward, I really wanted to open up a little about what TDAAC has meant to me for such a long time. I guess it's never too late to say something like this, right?
First of all, I have to say: WOW. I'm still amazed by how much our boys have grown. I mean, when did we even get to the long-awaited point where they got married??? I still remember when they were literally babies. Time really flies 😭
And it's not just about them, but also about Cat/Evie's story, Caleb, and all the other side characters, and how everything has developed in such an incredible way. More than that, I think it's also wonderful to feel like many of us have watched you grow too Meg as an artist, a storyteller, and as a person in general.
I know we don't actually know each other, but let me tell you that I'm genuinely so happy and proud of you! and I admire you so much for everything you've accomplished.
I think what I'm really trying to say is...thank you, Meg. It may sound hard to believe, but TDAAC was there for me during some very difficult moments in my life. Through all of your characters, I found the comfort and happiness that I needed, and honestly, I still do. So much so that every day I look forward to even the smallest piece of news or update!
I like to think that, in a way, we've all grown up alongside you throughout all these years. That's why I hope this journey is still far from over. ❤️
Well, I don't really know how to end this, so let me just wish you all the best, always. Never change and, uh... make sure to eat well. ;)
Sorry, I'm not very good at expressing myself, but I was feeling a little emotional today. Justo kill me if you want😭
By the way, sending hugs from Argentina! ❤️ See how far your influence has reached?
Hi anon! You know, it's really difficult to read and type through tears and shaking hands 🥹
Hyperboles aside, this message is so cute and and ahhhh?? I don't even know what to reply.
Thank you for your super kind words! I'm someone who doesn't have a lot of self confidence in what I'm doing and question my approach and handling of TDAAC a lot, so to read this got me genuinely emotional.
Your stay on this journey is greatly appreciated because even though I do art and the comic as a hobby and for myself rather than for acknowledgment and support from others, it's always heartwarming to read that this story means as much to other people (across the globe!) as to me and that in trying times like these I offer not just myself a little shelter from reality but to others too.
It really is crazy to think about this. I started TDAAC as a side project to ATLA comics shortly before my high school graduation at 19 and now I'm just a semester away from a bachelor's degree at 23. I took this story with me on my gap year in Italy, I started university with it, I took it with me to vacations and my semester abroad, and what I used to hide more in front of friends am openly sharing now. I did grow up. More or less even with my characters. And it's crazy to think other people on the internet grew up with particularly Robyn and Micah too. Since the wedding I always read how people say that they've grown so much and that they were just babies yesterday and it never crossed my mind that people would tell me "I found this story when I started high school. I'm close to graduating now."
Sorry for the ramble it's just hard to wrap my head around the fact that silly little me had some sort of impact on even one person's life. It's even harder to imagine it's more than one.
Once again, thank you so much for your words <3 printing it out and hanging it up.
The wedding day arc is almost over. After every day comes a night and another day again, no? 🤭
