i have sixty days clean how is that even real it feels fake and i feel strange but also good and proud and maybe i can do it.

i officially have all my shit in my new apartment and i never have to talk to my shit roommates or go to that god forsaken house ever again and im exhausted and cranky and my feet are dirty and the only thing that's set up is my bed but holy shit am i excited for what's coming and for my mental health to come first finally and to not have to worry about drugs and alcohol in the house and to live with an amazing woman also in recovery and her dog and my cat and im finally gonna cook again and ride my bike again and maybe even paint again but probably not because it still feels too soon but my life is coming together and for once i don't feel like dying.

tomorrow i drive the sixteen ish hours it takes to get to seattle from santa cruz and there waiting for me is a new apartment with an awesome roommate and her dog, and my cat and it has all the potential in the world to be the safe space ive so much needed and craved especially the past six months. im excited for this new chapter but i can't help being a little nervous about it all. today is my 36th day of being sober and things are looking like ive wanted them to look for so long. counting my blessings and all the things and people in my life that have let me live this life.
