Practical Metrics for Sobriety Progress in 2026
MEASURING MORE THAN CLEAN DAYS Early recovery feels fragile when every slip seems catastrophic. A clear, objective dashboard calms that fear. THE FIVE-DOMAIN SCALE Top Sober House scores progress weekly in: - Physical stability (sleep, nutrition, breathalyzer readings) - Emotional regulation (mood logs, coping tools) - Community engagement (meetings, service) - Purpose alignment (work, study, creativity) - Relapse-prevention competence (triggers, plans) Residents see where small tweaks create big gains instead of obsessing over a calendar streak. DATA WITHOUT SHAME Breathalyzers and scheduled urine screens feed the dashboard automatically. Because everyone knows how and when data is collected, results spark conversation, not punishment. Trend lines, not single slips, guide support plans. PERSONAL GOALS, HOUSE RULES Each newcomer writes a vision statement. Curfews, chores, and meeting quotas are linked back to that vision, turning “rules” into daily reps toward future goals. WHY IT WORKS Numbers turn progress into a story you can read and trust. Peers cheer objective wins, staff spot risk early, and residents build agency that outlasts their stay.
ok so I can’t seem to find any good sobriety apps that are completely FREE any recs?
Just added the "sugar" entry to my sobriety tracker and filled up some motivational reasons to keep off of it. I'm really addicted to sugar and if I manage to keep off constantly satisfying myself with it, things will get easier with time.
