Help undo the forecast limitation placed on the National Climate Assessment by signing our petition! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Link in Bio ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ James Reilly, former astronaut, petroleum geologist, and director of the United States Geological Survey has placed a forecast limitation on the National Climate Assessment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The limitation would present a falsely optimistic picture of the state of our environment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s send a message to separate politics from science. #sociallyaware #stopfossilfuels #sustainability #minimalism #gogreen #planetoverprofit #environmentalgovernance #circularity #savetheplanet https://www.instagram.com/p/B2PwEVLH-mu/?igshid=r3fkfr9kxyt6

"There is a heaviness and a burden with being socially aware. You feel everything. You notice everything. You are disturbed by the ills of society. You are disturbed. Period."
~Rebecca Akrasi-Sarpong aka Intuitivewordz
Consider this.... please read if you are a socially aware blogger
I know you all know I deeply care about race issues, but one behavior in the social justice community is getting out of hand. If a white person is offended in the process of you calling out their racist behavior, then there's really nothing you can do about that, but if it isn't necessary to bring negative attention to a white person's behavior....don't do it. I mean blatant insults. It might not be racism, but it's still hurtful. I just don't like hurting people that haven't really done anything to me. I can't look at every white person and insult them, because my old white friends belittled my intelligence because of my background. It's pretty fucked up to say that just because the white cops in Ferguson are acting disgusting, other white people don't deserve to feel offended about being teased or mocked. It's like telling me that I can't complain about drug issues because there are other Colombians involved with drug cartels. I agree that being offended doesn't compare to being oppressed for years and years, and I will continue to call out moments of injustice throughout my life. I can talk to them about privilege dynamics when they cross the line, but I am not going to tell them to go choke on their Starbucks. There are many ways to bring awareness without hurting people.
Things that are okay: "Hey don't wear that headdress it really offends Native Americans" *white person takes it personally*
Things that are NOT okay: "White people are so uncultured and misinformed about everything." *white person gets offended*
SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES ARE NEVER FORMULAIC.
**Just because some white people get offended when we bring up race issues doesn't mean that every instance of white people getting offended should be belittled and mocked.
**Just because some people ignorantly mock another culture's dress doesn't mean that every cultural exchange is cultural appropriation.
SOCIAL JUSTICE ISSUES SHOULD ALWAYS BE TAKEN CASE BY CASE
