Sockmates
No triggers as far as I know
--------------------------------------------------
Spot Conlon never believed in soulmates.
David Jacob's never believed in the idea of your 'other half'.
"You aren't just one half of a person before you meet your soulmate, you're still a fully functional person without them. Soulmates are more like a sock."
"The hell Dave?" Jack laughs from where he was sitting on the couch, arms wrapped around Sarah.
They'd all met together, originally for movie night but David had ended up going on one of his many rambles and Spot wasn't complaining. He'd take any excuse to sit there and stare at the other, listening to him speak. He looked so cute although Spot would never admit that out loud.
Davey rolls his eyes and continues explaining, this was the first time he'd actually spoken about his soulmate theory and everyone was differing degrees of interested. "Think about it, you're one fully functional sock on your own but you work better with another one. And it doesnt really matter which sock you go with, some look better than others yeah but any two socks work together. Plus there can be multiple 'perfect matches'." He shrugged and sat down, "soulmate culture is overrated, we shouldn't be forced to spend our lives focused on just one person when theres so many opportunities out there."
And hell, maybe Spot Conlon wanted to be Davey's other sock.
