Throw some love at your favorite fanwork makers, just like the Flat threw soft colorful socks at everyone's favorite Faustus, Peter Donaldson!

Do you have a favorite Lolilo fanfic that lives in your brain rent-free? A favorite AU gifset or edit you wish got more love? A Lolilo fanartist, fanfic writer, or moodboard maker you'd like to thank for their amazing work over the years? This fest is for you!

From September 22 to October 3, 2025 - leave comments and kudos on as many Lolilo/NMTD fanworks as you can! Whether it's a new-to-you read or a brand-new piece, let the creator know your positive thoughts! Even if it's just a string of sparkle-heart emojis, that still counts! Reply to this post telling us about your commenting adventures!

Also, for that extra special fanwork you love - make the author of your favorite fic an-all new fanwork based on their story! Create a gifset or moodboard for your favorite fic! Write a gift fic that continues exploring your favorite writer's pet AU, or a gift fic based on your favorite editor’s moodboards! Make a Rec List of all your favorite fics that deserve love. Go old-school and throw together a fanmix!

Then, on October 3, post your creations for the whole fandom to see and enjoy! Make sure to credit the fan writers/editors who inspired you and link their works too.

Rec list for SOCKS fest

i'm famously shit at reading nmtd/lolilo fics, and I feel like the rec of everyone currently posting in the tag is implicit, but here is a list of fics i've read and enjoyed through the years (leaving out my good daily comrades entirely, i love you allllllll and what you make tho)<3

Fools in Love - @idiopath-fic-smile beadick + pedrazar making songs fic. probably the first ever nmtd/lolilo fanfic I ever read, and thus remains special to me. idiopathic also has a really fun maan co-op au that can be read on tumblr.

Collateral Damage - cormoranth, SignorMountanto donalduke fic that hit on sooo many of the interesting things about post nmtd and rly is great on characterisation

and for the first time what's past is past - wibbelkind donalduke series about them meeting again in uni, all about healing and new friendships. got really into their friendships with the oc's actually.

Hate to See You All Alone - marquis absolutely delightful cracky costa/peter/jaquie fic about being stood up at a restaurant and things going...more sideways than that recipe normally implies

the best story that i could ever tell - waveridden a kind of half cracky half sweet half bittersweet (150% bc costa) costa/peter fic with some good donbros moments as well<3

Webseries Moodboards: Beatrice x Benedick, Travel Year, Lovely Little Losers

Based on the fanfic "More Than A Youth" by LydiaOLydia, which is summarized "Five ways Beatrice and Benedick could have gotten engaged and the way they really did."

Inspired by the whole fic, but especially the two chapters where they go to a Hobbes family wedding in Scotland, which I always think of first when I think of this fic. An all-time fave. Happy Socks Fest, Lydia! :D <3

Webseries Moodboards: Benedick Hobbes, Broadway Star AU, Lovely Little Losers

In "I'm gonna be questioning the reason and rhyme to this line" by queen_ofdisaster, Benedick Hobbes is a musical theatre star, playing Melchior in Spring Awakening on Broadway and filming a Broadway.com vlog of the experience (while also having a mostly-online enemies-to-lovers romance with theatre fan Beatrice Duke).
