Two Trees and a Starry Sky | Fein & Dorian
location: the center of the jedi temple date & time: 1/05, 5:00AM tag: @socthsayers
He’s so tired.
The ache holds deep in Fein’s bones, and his muscles shake in ways they haven’t since he was first in the Pit. Its been a long time since Fein has fought the way he did today (its been a long time since he let himself become the Nightmare), and he’s paying for it now.
He wants to rest.
The walls around the base are beginning to close in on him. Night has long since fallen, and he knows the stars are bright and centered above the Temple. The feeling of cold air on his face, and nothing above his head but constellations is too much for Fein to resist, and he finds himself wandering up the winding hallways.
His heart is heavy.
Fein’s first step onto the overgrown moss of the temple feels like he’s shedding a thousand years of weight. He takes a deep breath, and turns to head for his favorite spot to meditate only to see a figure standing there already.
Waiting for him.
Dorian.
Fein closes his eyes, letting the shame wash over him all over again, before crossing the starlit stones to meet his mentor.
“I wanted to ...,” he swallows hard (why is this so much more painful than seeing Dorian for the first time after everything else? He already knows, he see’s it all, why is it so damn hard to tell him?) , “I wanted to speak to you when we landed, but I couldn’t.”
He looks down, away from sightless eyes that see more than he could ever know, and waits for the shame to crest again.
(Its hard because you’ve never known a Father, never known a man like him - who saw you, see’s you, and loves you all the same.)
