Not sure if you answered questions like this before, but if the humanized engines have wheels, do they move around like those electric scooters you stand on?
Depends entirely on the engine.
🛞 More details on their wheels here 🛞
Oh pookie wookie bear, could we maybe get an eddie look book (you already know who i am 😔)
And just for you some sketches bc youre the best 🫶

THE 2025 SODOR516 AU, boys and squirrels. These are just roughs, I’m definitely gonna do proper refs for them when I’ve got more time on my hands, but people have been rightfully asking for some revamps. So here’s that, with a (not the most accurate so don’t come for me) height chart. Everyone loves a good height chart.
Headcanons are more or less the same, but they’ll get an update in due time too. ✨
Before anyone asks, yes some have changed sizes slightly and yes I’m doing the diesels and so forth.

Welcome to
🚂 Sodor516 🚂
Sup sup. For anyone new here, welcome to AskTrio516 I guess? You’ll find humanisation art of Thomas and Friends here along with silly AU’s I create around these humanised locomotives.
Most of my followers are used to my bullshit but if you’re new here, and don’t know me well, just a few things you might wanna be aware of—
I’m a young adult, I add quite a few adult themes to my headcanons, and sometimes art. I keep it (mostly) SFW but don’t be surprised if I feature suggestive/thirsty shit, mild gore and boobs. I swear a lot too. I don’t suggest anyone younger than 16 so please be aware. If that ain’t your cup of tea, don’t say I didn’t warn ya. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m also in love with Duck so he’s gonna be all over this blog, sorry not sorry.
This blog and the Sodor516 Railway is ran by yours truly~
Hope you enjoy your stay! ~

🚂 FAQs
🌟Q: Who is your favourite character?
A: Duck, Thomas and James.
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: Will you be drawing [insert character here]?
A: When I feel inspired and want to do a new character, that’s when I will do so. As of right now I’ve got about 60-ish humanised designs. Their line-ups below:
Steam Team 1-11
Diesels
Ladies of Sodor
Narrow Gauge Gang
Supporting Cast Engines
Off the Rails Gang
~More detailed character sheets and updated HCs coming soon~
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: How tall are the Engines?
A: The line-ups linked above feature the height of every humanised character I’ve designed so far. 👆
The shortest like Percy and Toad are around 5ft to 5’6ft while the tallest engine such as Gordon, Scotsman and D10 range up from 7ft to 8ft.
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: What is [insert character here]’s sexuality?
A: I prefer to simply say my Engines are all either bi or pan by default. There’s a few exceptions that I feel have specific sexualities or genders but in the end of the day, they’re beings that can choose whatever they feel in the gender and/or orientation department. I just tend to follow the given pronouns in the UK media.
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: How do the Foot Wheels Work?
A: A little like rollerblades. Can slide up into a lock at the ankle when not in use and be brought down with a kick when needed. More details and sketches HERE.
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: How old are the Engines?
A: I usually draw my Human Engines based around their personality more than the supposed ‘age’. I feel like their smoke box faces and personalities are the most important glimpses into their character which is why I use these two attributes most when coming up with a human design. Admittedly, I also have a hard time drawing older people and features which is something I’m working on.
As for within the Sodor516 AU, the age of the Locomotive itself is the age of the character. They are not biological humans or even biological beings, therefore don’t have to worry about ‘dying.’ Everything is linked to their real locomotive form. Once the engine is too run down or scrapped, that’s their end. So an engine can be 200, but if they’re fixed up and in good shape, they won’t look 200.
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: How do trucks/break vans/coaches/rolling stock differ from the engines?
A: Troublesome trucks and other goods stock tend to differ from Engines in the fact that they’re an accidental product of the Dust and are not ‘meant’ to have the ability to change forms. Because of this, it’s harder for them to do so, and should they be able to, their forms are androgynous, almost child like, with limbs sometimes misplaced or replaced by various mechanical parts.
More in depth details and illustrations can be found HERE
———————————————————————————————————————
🌟Q: Can the Engines get married/go to jail/vote/[insert human thing here]?
A: Unfortunately, at present time in the Sodor516 AU, the Engines are not seen as people with their own agency and rights, even though they can transform into humanoid appearance and have human emotions and capability to feel and think. Many people support their agency as people and believe they should have the same rights as humans and other recognised Supernatural races. However it is opposed and currently, they are still recognised as property of the railway they serve.
This means anything to do with law, legality or rights such as getting married, having a vote, even being seen as a victim of crime is not accessible for the Engines. If they break the law, they wouldn’t be sent to prison, but simply scrapped. Things hopefully will change.

🌟Q: Where does Lady get her magic/What is the ‘Dust’/Are any of the Engines apart from Lady magic?
A: The Sodor516 AU is loosely set in @thestrangeverse, a project me and my partner are working on. This AU mixes the canon of the TTTE Show with the original lore created by us into a fun alternate universe.
Lady is what’s known as an Engineer Construct. Put very simply, she is a special machine created by a very old and now extinct supernatural race of people known only as the Engineers. She was built for the purpose of transforming and producing Etherium (better known as Magika) into a physical form you can touch and see, known as Dust.
When Lady awoke on the Island of Sodor and began to produce Dust once more, it breathed life into various machinery on the island and giving the locomotives life. Thanks to this, Lady is the only ‘magical engine’ on Sodor. She was directly created by and infused with Engineer Magika. Any Engine or Machine effected by her is a bi product. They are technically ‘magical’, but do not possess any similar abilities outside from the attributes commonly seen in a transfigured machine.
(If you want to know more about @thestrangeverse, we are updating that blog about the ins and outs of the universe and all its lore there. Have in mind that Sodor516 is set in the StrangeVerse but it’s not canon to its main lore because obviously copyright and originality. The Sodor516 AU is done for fun.)

🚂 Sodor516 Engine HCs
🌟 The Engines/Coaches/Vehicles that are ‘alive’ change by the ‘Dust’ dispersing their forms to collect again and reform their new appearance.
🌟 It takes energy and therefore it’s not finite. The time they spend in each form is unlimited, but each time they change uses up energy which they need time to recover from like any other living thing.
🌟 They’re inhumanly strong when in their human bodies. Able to push trucks, coaches and lift amounts no normal person could. Even though their condition and abilities still translate to their human forms- a stronger engine could lift more than a smaller/older one.
🌟 Bad coal/bad diesel fuel/sugar, and any substance that is bad for the engine to burn/ingest, will effect the human form as well usually by making them appear and feel really ill.
🌟 They don’t need to eat or drink human foods to survive. If they do so, it’s for pleasure and because they like the taste, but not for energy or survival. Steam Engines do find that drinking water does give them energy even when human, however.
🌟 They also weigh more than a normal person, which means swimming is something that takes practice. They’ve got to figure out how to float first.
🌟 The wheels on their legs can detach, but it’s uncomfortable for them to remove/reattach therefore most Engines don’t do it often.
🌟 Their ‘blood’ is darker than normal blood. It appears black in condensed amounts but a more reddish rust colour when thinned.
🌟 Their stomachs equate to their boiler. If the boiler is pierced the wound will show up on their gut. The funnel equates to the throat, shoulders to buffers, etc. The boiler is the most obvious tie.
🌟 Their whistles still sound like their usual ones when in human appearance, and they whistle the same way a person would with their mouth and fingers (however the whistle they emit is significantly louder than anything a normal human could produce, more or less the same sound as when they’re locomotives)
🌟 If an Engine is too damaged, they can ‘unravel’. A term coined by James when first witnessing D10’s episode in the Smelter’s. It is the twisted way in which the Dust keeping the Engine sentient tries to protect its body by turning it into a weapon instead of back into a locomotive. Hard to come back from, highly unstable and dangerous, but has served to save certain engines from complete scrap.
🌟 They’re virtually immortal to blood loss, and can sustain extensive physical damage. The only way to kill them is to either damage the engine enough until it’s inoperational or detaching their face. That severs the soul from the chassis and therefore kills them.
🌟 They don’t have a ‘sex’; their human appearances and pronouns are dictated by how they identify, and that’s what gives them male or female bodies/parts/etc. They have the ability to change it every time they transform if they choose to, should their identity change. But most engines tend to have their habits and favourite looks.
🌟 Their paint job is what dictates the colour of their hair and the colour of their clothing, though the clothing is something they can choose willingly. They can remove clothing and change into other clothing manually when human, but if they leave that item behind and change back into an Engine it will eventually disappear and manifest again when they return to a human form.

Can we see Edward and lady together? (Not particularly in a romantic way can be in a friendship way)
The rain pattered against the mud. The hum of a late summer storm filling the pleasantly cool air. The skies above Sodor were grey, a dark foreboding grey that signalled the downpour would only strengthen.
Lady’s sleek black boots barely made a sound as she walked. The tail of her dress stained by the soaked earth. Despite the rain, the deep, rich maroon pink of the fabric shone through. Against the garment’s berry hue, accents of gold glinted in the low light.
Her voice was soft as Lady hummed a quiet tune to herself. Barely a whisper over the rain, in time to her graceful steps. Each footprint the small figure left behind in the soft soil glittered. Lady held the curved handle of the umbrella tighter as a gust of wind a little stronger than the previous gail suddenly caught her. The teardrop charms at the edges of her brolly twinkled as they danced to every movement.
“Lady? Is that you?”
The tiny human engine turned her body, both of her dainty doll-like hands wrapped tight around the polished umbrella handle. She hadn’t even heard Edward roll up behind her along the tracks parallel to her path.
“Oh, Hello Edward. I didn’t know you travel this line.”
“What on earth are you doing out here? The heavens themselves are coming down.” The Tender Engine asked with calm concern in his voice.
“I felt the urge for a walk. Though I think my timing needs work.”
Lady smiled wide, her enchanting optimism seeping from each seam and somehow brightening the day. It brought a genuine one to Edward’s own face. His wheels were weary, his chassis heavier and heavier with every slope the old engine had to climb. Yet, somehow, in Lady’s presence, it melted away with the rain.
“Let me take you back to the station. It’s not far.”
His brow raised quizzically as Lady waved a hand, shaking her head.
“That’s kind Eddie, but I prefer to walk.”
“What about the weather?”
Edward glanced up to the distance before them both, where the skies transformed from their cold, steely grey to a charcoal turmoil.
“I don’t mind. I’ve always liked the rain.” Lady smiled up to her old friend. “It’s good seeing you, Eddie.”
She propped the umbrella on her shoulder, and went to turn her body away. Before the small engine could take another step, she could feel the locomotive behind her shift. The looming shape of his metal body suddenly lifting, and replaced with a smaller, nimbler figure.
A figure that was beside her now. He gently took the umbrella from her with careful fingers.
“I’m not letting you walk in this tempest alone.”
“Won’t you be late, travelling on foot?”
Edward tentatively brushed a lock of hair from her face. He gestured forwards before them both.
“I don’t mind. It’s a nice change of pace” He echoed her words as the corners of his smile pulled just a little wider. “Ladies first.”
omg I would kill to see an Emily look book
just saw the unraveling post and I’m so fucking sorry for spamming you (again, please ignore or delete if you want), but I need to ask: do you think Henry considered unraveling before the Kipper? Finally not being the useless one of the early engines, and sacrificing his humanity - one of the things making him “weak?”
Unravelling is something that happens more as a side effect to them putting strength and power over everything else. Kinda like vampires in certain lore- the more desperate and starved they are the more monstrous/powerful they become. Similar to that, the more damaged the engine is the more they can lose it as a way to protect their state.
They want to return to their natural state (locomotive). But due to not being designed to transmute- in the panic they don’t go back into an engine- they become a grotesque weapon. Echoing the last cruel choices made by the Engineers which was to build Constructs for war. Safe to say a human form isn’t a stable one which puts them in a malleable state that hinges on their emotional and physical status. (Sadly it’s also a reason many use to excuse refusal to treat them as equals).
Most of them view their ‘humanity’ as a strength, and unravelling as a sacrifice.
Unravelling isn’t seen as something good by any of them. Henry’s humanity isn’t what makes him weak- the poor quality of his construction and his condition did. The Kipper Incident damaged him so badly that he unravelled upon impact just to survive the crash. It also damaged him further but the blessing was that when being rebuilt, Henry came back stronger and better. Up until then, he was one of the only engines left on Sodor who still needed a cabin crew (featured below:)
