(Ive already posted this next piece before but i made edits sicne then plus i just think it matches her)
HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON X SOFIA THE FIRST MY BELOVED RAAAAAAAA
im imagining king roland and stoick are doing some alliance trading thingy or whatever kingdoms do and sure they happen in completely different time eras, but the show has disney princesses from like 600AD all the way to 1950s show up so i dont think time era stuff really matters here
This was the crossover idea I had mentioned. I saw the day one prompt for Cedric week and I remembered this idea I had from awhile ago and I knew it would fit perfectly here.
Sofia The First Season 4 Episode 1 - Day of the Sorcerers
His initial reaction to seeing her was just shock. He had to be pushed into feigning a commanding role by Wormwood. His heart clearly isn't it, it's too busy racing in his chest. He has to hold his arm steady; it's shaking just aiming the Medusa Stone at Sofia. A simple flick of his wand was all he needed -- he taught Sofia that. He can't do it.
After mere seconds of looking into the eyes of the girl he betrayed, he buckled. “I can't do it” is written all over his face so I'm glad they didn't make him exclaim that here. It'd be fitting but the wordless acceptance of defeat is more than enough to convey that, and it's beautiful.
Sofia couldn't have had full confidence that he wouldn't zap her too. She saw her entire family frozen in place after all. But she still, naively, believed in him anyway. Even with all his evils laid out in front of her.
I hate that there are people calling her stupid for this. She's literally just a little baby and even the adult audience of her show fell for Cedric's charms. Of course a kiddo is gonna fall for them too! He taught her such important lessons without asking anything of her in return. Sure she may have inadvertently felt the need to help him but he never asked her to be his savior. She definitely didn't comprehend what she saved this man from becoming.
Also, don't male Disney characters with drapey outfits like Cedric's usually let it drag along the floor? I've never seen a male Disney character lift his cloak like a princess would hold up her dress. He's such a doll, especially when he's happy. This coupled with how he bends ALL the way down to prepare to sit in his throne is so fun and gay. Gosh, I love Cedric's mannerisms.
Watching Sofia interact with the canon princesses will never not be funny to me ESPECIALLY the ones who are still voiced by their original voice actresses. I just watched Princesses to the Rescue and because both Ming Na-Wen and Lea Salonga came back to voice & sing for Mulan again, all I can think while she’s helping the girls find the confidence to solve a tough maze & save the boys from a treasure cave inhabited by a single magical creature is “Ok yeah this is the same Fa Mulan who legit went to war out of fear for her father’s life, walked through the remains of an entire village that was burnt to the ground with no survivors -and they make a point of letting us know families lived in that village kids lived in that village Shan Yu definitely killed the little girl who owned that doll and her doll is now the only proof left that she ever existed- saw an entire field of dead soldiers in that same village there’s no mistaking what happened here they show us the bodies, watched Shang find out that his father was killed in battle and tried to comfort him while he performed a quick funeral rite before having to march on, took a stab through the chest that could’ve caused her to bleed to death (again we saw the blood), was nearly executed when she was revealed to be a woman in disguise (something she knew was a very real possibility the entire time), and saved her country from an invading warlord by actually blowing him up with explosives (completely justified here but still a gruesome way to go even if we don’t see the messy details). Yup that’s her and it makes total sense that she’s here. Look at Amber’s adventurer hat- it has a big bow, good for her.” Which leads me down the path of “When Snow White told Sofia to trust her gut about Miss Nettle in disguise by using Queen Grimhilde as an example does Sofia already know that wasn’t even the first time the Queen tried to kill her? Does she know plan A was to have the Huntsman cut out her heart and bring it back in a jewelry box as a grotesque trophy? Does Sofia know that the Queen was counting on the Dwarfs burying Snow White alive? And speaking of Miss Nettle in her first song she said she was gonna outshine Maleficent and obviously the Three Good Fairies are here they run the school. Do you suppose it ever occurred to Cedric to call on All the Powers of Hell when he was still in his scheming phase? It’s nice that Cinderella helped Sofia start to build her bond with Amber but I don’t think elementary schoolers, even if they are royalty and newly made royalty, having a tough time adjusting to being a blended family with two basically stable and loving parents is quite the same thing as the years of physical and emotional abuse she endured with the Tremaines as soon as her dad dropped dead and there was no one else to protect her. Like yeah it started when you and your stepsisters were kids but by the time the ball happened you were all legal adults and they were knowingly and eagerly participating in your abuse I don’t think it’s on you that you guys never got to be true sisters they physically assaulted you they literally ripped the clothes off your back. Belle teaching Sofia about making amends and using Beast’s character growth as an example is genuinely sweet, but does Sofia know that Belle was also being pursued by an increasingly dangerous man who tried to have her father thrown into an asylum as a way to coerce her? It’s cute when Jasmine teaches Sofia & Amber to ride a magic carpet who’s gonna tell them that Jafar planned to marry & murder her and she actually had to make out with him in order to distract him? Did Ariel ever tell her about Ursula’s Garden of Poor Unfortunate Souls? Or that the first time she became human she came out naked? Did Rapunzel ever mention to Amber how Eugene was almost hanged for being a thief? Does TTS factor into this continuity cuz if it does how about the time Rapunzel stole the flower with Varian and the circumstances that led him to those actions? Did Tiana ever have to sit Sofia down and explain systemic racism to her-
