for the ask game, feeling like it’s between some kind of academia and fall aesthetic. Imagining a lot of warm colors!
(referencing this)
I love fall colors, but I actually don't really wear a traditional autumn palette very often! It makes me look like I'm on death's door, so I tend to drift toward faded, cool tones with a hint of warmth to them. In terms of fashion color groups, I'm solidly a Soft Autumn, hehe :>
On the subject of academia, though, I dream of dressing like a grandmother dressed like an English professor dressed like a lighthouse keeper, so that assumption, while not necessarily totally reflective of how I dress, is pretty spot on!
Something I love about Silksong's Red Memory is that it really explained to me why they raised and trained Hornet as they did: all of it, all of it was so she could survive and thrive in a cruel world filled with higher powers that would stop at nothing to take and destroy whatever they feel like. Learning Weaver history really recontextulized some things in Deepnest.
Pharloom as a whole recontextualizes EVERYTHING about Deepnest for me. There's so much additional lore that adds so much to the whole mess that is Deepnest and the Weavers. Like, just a few of the things that make me insane are:
The fact that Hallownest residents tend to see Weavers as brutal, monstrous savages, and the fact that Weavers were once unintelligent animals before being imbued with Grand Mother Silk's influence.
The fact that Hornet is described as "spawn of those who dared to flee" and Herrah, alongside the rest of Deepnest, is viciously resistant to the Pale King, despite him being a known deity who could crush Deepnest, a kingdom of mortals with no Higher Being defending it, without a thought if sufficiently motivated.
The fact that a large number of Weavers left Hallownest for their old home after their children succumbed to the Infection en masse, Lace is noted as having been intentionally spun frail to keep her dependent on Grand Mother Silk, and the final boss arena for most endings in Silksong is called "the Cradle."
The fact that the Cradle in Pharloom is almost the highest point on the map, while Deepnest in Hollow Knight is almost the lowest point on the map.
The fact that the Widow is described as having had her mask— something associated with memory and personality in the games— forcibly removed and being a devoted servant of Grand Mother Silk, while the First Sinner in the Slab who's only accessible with the key of the Apostate is noted as having no means of absolution being granted to her and has her mask intact.
So what is Hornet like in your au? How does Ghost feel about looking at her cousin and seeing a fundamentally different person than who she first met and got to know?
Herrah being a protective mother who’s used to standing up to Higher Beings is really complicating Ghost’s reunion plans.
In other news, Silksong Tomorrow.
Wait, how does The Pale King come back to life? Does Ghost revive him?
There’s no need to revive him, because in the world this post-credits AU takes place in, he never died in the first place :>
Swap au with leshy and narinder? For the au asks thing.

Notes on an alternative version of this prompt:
You recently posted a comic where Ghost mentioned she met the version of herself in this timeline, but I couldn't find any other comics mentioning this. Is there something wrong with the vessel Ghost of this timeline that bothers Shade Lord Ghost?
It was mentioned very briefly in one post, and Ghost was mostly upset in that recent comic because she realized her name— “Ghost of Hallownest”— is a bit more literal than she anticipated now thanks to timeline shenanigans! Though that’s not to say that this timeline’s Ghost doesn’t have any quirks.
She certainly had a lot she apologized for when pleading for her life after our Ghost found her in a nosk den, that’s for sure! :)
Can you draw Cloud from final fantasy?
