        ‘  HONESTLY  BARRY,  it’s not  ––  fuck  !  ’    the swear in her words is hissed through her teeth as barry pushes an alcohol soaked pad against the gash in her forehead.  she jerks back a little, eyes screwed shut as her nose wrinkles in distaste.  it’s not deep,  not as far as she can tell,  but barry seems insistent,  and he promised it’d be quick.  and yet  –––  her leg jiggles impatiently against the table leg.  she frowns up at him,  and scrubs her hands over worn out fishnets with a soft huff.     ‘  it’s not that deep,  can’t you just slap a bandaid on it so we can go get some food ?  ’

       HE GIVES HER A pointed look as she swears, before going back to wiping away the blood and looking at how bad the wound really was.   “You got smashed in the forehead, Dinah. Most people would be out cold for like, a day, and yet you’re SNARKING me.”   Barry points out, though his words are caring even if they hold an edge of teasing. Okay, so it wasn’t deep enough to need stitches, not that he had anywhere near steady enough hand for that.   “It isn’t that deep, but you also can’t just walk out of here with blood dripping down your forehead. I don’t think the hostess is going to let you in.”   He adds, reaching for a bandage, delicate fingers placing it on, before he reaches for a bag of ice.   “If I go and get you food, will you sit with this on there? It’ll help with the SWELLING, and I know you have a big case in two days.”
