Diamond Dress | Perceptions. This collection was all about our perceptions of reality. Plato’s “World of the Forms”, Decartes’ theories on existence. Scientific ideas of the physical world which took me to quantum physics and string theory. I’ve always liked pushing ideas and things to their limits while still making them palatable and relatable. I’ve always been fascinated with the universe, why things are the way they are and what it all means. My disciplines are creative but my hobbies are philosophy and science, (theories of the universe are my main points of interest). While doing this project I learnt some basics of quantum physics and taught myself the beginnings of string theory, because of this it was probably one of my favourite projects to undertake. It merged my creativity with my love for knowledge. I think having a creative mind helps in being able to grasp abstract concepts. For anyone who ever thought fashion design easy try some basic pattern making and garment construction one day 😉. Fashion can be superficial but design isn't.
