One of the techniques in watercolors that I really explored is wet on wet. I just fell in love how you can manipulate your paintings to look soft with the aid of water. It is indeed a hard process to learn but very satisfying once you get the concept. . You can even mix wet on wet & wet on dry to combine soft & hard edges which definitely can bring a whole lot of look to your paintings. With these techniques though, you need to have a very good paper to support all those moisture you are putting in. You can't be cheap with the type of paper you are using. For me it's always been 300gsm 100% cotton that works best for this. Any brand will do as long as they have those qualities. . What about you? What techniques in watercolors are you fond of using? .
