just curious, why do you not like bollig?
I’m not a huge fan of enforcers, in general. I don’t really care much about that aspect of the game and so when I like players, I want to like them on talent and skill. Bollig was there to do his role which was fight and hit. But then Q started giving him more minutes and he would fuck up plays and I would sit there scratching my head (remember those horrifying few times he was actually on the first line? even when it was just a late line change it was too much, i just). And then we signed him and gave him more money than we should have, rather than a bridge deal and it boggled my mind once more. So yeah, I was happy when they traded him because he didn’t add much to them longevity wise and we needed that cap space. Nothing against the dude as a person or whatever, but he’s just not someone I care about.
hello! sorry to bother, but for some reason i'm under the impression that you're Maybe Australian (possibly because you reblogged AFL stuff). anyway, the reason for my inquiry is that you write hockey fic and i was wondering how you got your details about chicago right? i'm from australia and my experience of chicago was solely the airport terminal; i know nothing. which troubles me when i want to write fic, i don't want to get anything wrong. do you have any tips??
Hello! Yes, I am Australian (I currently live in WA), but seriously, I have no solid advice for you. My main techniques are 'I made it up' and 'I was real vague on the details'. A lot of little true-to-life details about the city are nice sometimes, but aren't particularly necessary or even recommended in excess. Remember you're writing about characters, not a place. Unless you're going for a fairly niche-appeal 'love letter to Chicago' type thing, I think a basic knowledge of where it is and what the weather tends to be like - basic shit like that - is enough to get you through.
Have fun writing!
The solo performance vibe still continues pt. 2
Caetano alone with a guitar, singing to the people, with the people, again, alone with his guitar.
The solo performance vibe still continues pt. 1
Laura sings/tells a story of an unsure girl who can't quite figure out a mystery of her own, accompanied by her own guitar play.
Another solo performance, live, simple setting, so intimate, dramatic, powerful.
The story of a man in the lyrics + the way he sings (or more like "narrates"?) it + that beat and synthesizer => almost feels like a stirring folk song whose emotion driven by the electronic equipments' allure.
