What are your favorite HC Solangelo?

okay this has been sitting in my inbox long enough lmao, i needed time to collect them all!!! (not that these are all of them but man. i have so many thoughts)

despite popular belief, nico is a dog person and will is a cat person.

Will will subconsciously check Nicos vitals with his vitakinesis while cuddling. he likes knowing he's okay

nico bites whether aggressively or affectionately is up to the context. Will likes it. (i mean it in an autistic way not in a sexual way)

they have matching bracelets. i always draw them with their matching bracelets (inspired by this comic by @alessiajontrunfio)

nico is stupidly touch starved, and once the touch barrier is broken between those two, he will gravitate towards will like a fucking magnet.

will is overall just a really physically affectionate guy, but he is not used to getting it back much especially not from nico, so he melts at affection

nico is pretty much an honorary apollo camper, he's almost always with them, it doesnt take long for him to get pretty close with kayla and austin too, kayla especially he has an almost sibling like bond with. both of them wouldnt be caught dead admitting that though

will has a fucking awful filter. son of the god of truth and all. he will both be brutally honest with people. but he will also just blurt out his gay ass thoughts to nico. he is physically incapable of hiding his adoration for this emo boy

i love solangelo headcanons but they're all super deep like how will carries so much guilt from all the patients he's lost and constantly overworks himself in the infirmary because he can't stand the thought of losing another young demigod, someone who might not even be a teenager yet. and nico can sense all the death and negativity coming from will and he feels so bad about it because will is practically a zombie, working day and night, taking too many shifts in the infirmary. of course, he keeps the negativity all wrapped up on the inside and tries to be the cheerful person he "should" be, only furthering the depression. and nico understands, because he's been there before, so he tries to help will find a happier place at chb.

so as a more positive one, i'll say that solangelo has the BEST cuddles. will is warm like the sun (because apollo = sun god) and nico is deathly cold, so they balance out creating the perfect temperature contrast :3

OKAY LIKE TWO HOURS LATER (i mean. i was doing my actual work in between. since i am at work.) THE RESULTS ARE:

techinally, i write nico as embarrassed more often than not. BUT the difference is that nico in my fics, generally, is embarrassed by affection generally -- he loves will, and everyone knows, and that embarrasses him, as much as he is determined to make it known. that's why he is equally embarrassed with witnesses and without. he is also more aware of affection and intimacy and notices it more than will does, as his is measured. also, notably, nico is embarrassed by his own affection as much as will's affection, explaining why he so rarely 'should' be embarrassed.

will, though, is much less aware of how affectionate he is (thus how often he SHOULD be embarrassed but rarely is).  he is affectionate and intimate with nico as he is with all he loves -- this is why he is rarely (half as many times) as embarrassed when there are witnesses about. HOWEVER, when will is embarrassed by affection, he is DEEPLY embarrassed because he is unused to being embarrassed in this way. affection is not embarrassing to him. so, often in private, when nico is intimate with him, it startles him -- he is very aware of it and suddenly forced to be very aware of his own reaction, in a way he does not usually have to be. will is more embarrassed by the act of receiving affection than he is of people witnessing it, which is attributed to the differing ways nico and will value themselves: nico, who has pretty high self-worth but is nervous about how others perceive him, is embarrassed by other people witnessing his intimacy (he is also a more private person generally) vs. will, who has very low self worth and who is shocked and embarrassed when he must acknowledge nico wants to be intimate with him (and he therefore has qualities that are worth affection and intimacy, outside of his work).

thank u for bringing this up actually. i had no idea i characterized them this way, but when i started looking there was a very clear pattern in my work. interesting!

I’m so sorry you had to wait so long! I basically spent ages to staring at a wall trying to think up my best ones. So, here you go @hazellevessque!

As soon as Will found out Nico spoke Italian, he immediately went and learned some, and then surprised him

Or, Will speaks Italian because it’s the language of music (just like Piper can speak French because it’s the language of love), and Nico was ranting about losing Capture the Flag to Clarisse. 

He was speaking rapid fire Italian, and Will just came over, and said: "Va tutto bene, amore mio. Calmati. Unisciti alla prossima volta?”

(“It’s okay, my love. Calm down. Team up next time?”)

Nico didn’t know how to ask Will out so he just came up to him and said “Me. You. Tonight. At seven. Be there” and left. 

Will just stood there looking stunned, then went back to his cabin and partied.

When Will and Nico adopted their first baby girl (pretty sure this is canon, but I don’t know), they called her Bianca Di Angelo-Solace

Will and Nico both had playlists dedicated to each other and never found out until they were well into the relationship (credit to @a-headcanon-a-day)

Will, as child of Apollo, is as scared of snakes as children of Athena are scared of spiders. He absolutely PANICS.

Nico is very protective of his boyfriend and his instincts always make him grab Will or cover Will with his body whenever some danger occurs. (credit to @nicodisigma)

Will would totally initiate random lightsaber fights. Like he would attack his siblings all the time just...out of nowhere (it's the ADHD).

Kayla would roll her eyes and threaten to snap the saber in half. Austin would play along and fall to the floor and dramatically die.

But the first person to actually fight back was Nico, who secretly has his own lightsaber hidden in the shadows. And he would disarm Will in some sort of fancy move that would leave Will stuttering and blushing because it was hot.

Solangelo headcanons because I’m bored and feeling soft

Will loves coming from behind, wrapping his arms around Nico’s waist and resting his head on his shoulder, and although Nico acts annoyed, he secretly loves it when he does that.

Will starts learning Italian since Nico rants in the language when he’s frustrated or not feeling well, that way he can really listen and understand what he’s feeling.

Nico is actually kinda good at singing and often does under his breath while doing other stuff. Will loves it and stops whatever he’s doing to just look at Nico (he blushes terribly when Nico finds him staring)

Nico sneaks into the apollo cabin to steal Will’s hoodies. When Will comes to ask if he knows anything about them, Nico denies it (he’s wearing one in that very moment) also they look huge in Nico.

While Will is tending patients in the infirmary, Nico will stand by the door or peak in through the window to look at him work (he also blushes terribly when Will catches him)

Nico can write poems. He sometimes sneaks one into Will’s hoodies’ pockets (when he finally decides to give them back) but denies he wrote them when Will asks, even though Will can tell it’s his handwriting.

Nico writing poems makes Apollo like him even more. Nico still scares him a bit, but he couldn’t be more happy for his son and his boyfriend.

AND that’s it. My brain is not really working. These aren’t that good and someone might have come up with these before me, but they’re still fun to think of :P
