People put a lot of effort into giving Rick's characters very human headcanons, but they're still demigods. They're half-human, yes, but also half-god. And being a god doesn't just mean being powerful in combat.

Give them things that help them in their daily lives to take away their problems too. Imagine not knowing if you'll make it to 18, if you'll survive this mission, and also having to worry about cavities or smelling bad and attracting an enemy.

Give them the wonderful things related to hygiene: no acne, no body hair, no cavities, no cramps, no yellow teeth, no greasy hair, no ingrown nails, no teenage odors or morning breath.

Hygiene things, things that, although they may not seem like much, affect the self-esteem of children and teenagers. A little relief in their lives so burdened with responsibilities that shouldn't be theirs.

and lets give them some purple yes too in the mix-- /j/j iykyk

i love giving them more of those little traits from their godly parents

like as much as its fun to look at how they'd realistically look like age wise at certain points of the story, i like to think that the fanon interpretations that look older would be more accurate because of godly genes

they wouldnt age normally and their puperties would probably be way different

i think these things would ESPECIALLY be prominent in aphrodite kids cause of their seemingly "effortlessly perfect appearances" it'd explain a LOT w that, i doubt these kids are actually spending hours in the bathroom w that fuckass camp schedule lets be fr

OOOOH ummmm i hope its ok i enter some will in there too cause he's a pivotal part of their friendship to me

obviously theres my gender enigma cecil headcanons and i will never ever disclose anything about his gender

will was the first of the trio at camp and lou ellen arrived pretty soon after the same year when they were 10

cecil arrived the year after when they were all 11 (i hc them all to be the same age)

will and lou ellen became friends FAST and was suuuper clingy in the hermes cabin, however will was claimed his first summer cause he told the story abt him accidentally healing a papercut at 8, which resulted in him demonstrating and oops theres a golden lyre above his head

which is to say they were seperated pretty fast but they got to have their first summer together (will wasnt a year rounder for 1 more summer)

cecil arrived the year after before the start of the summer and so he and lou ellen became fast friends

thankfully when will came back for the summer there was no animosity and they just became a trio real fast

lou ellen and cecil were sharing bunk beds in the hermes cabin until lou got claimed, which she wasnt until the whole "pay ur damn child support" incident so they got REAL close

they were both equally excited and sad that lou ellen got claimed for this reason

Lou is still an honorary hermes camper cause she was unclaimed for so long and also cause she is. terrifyingly good at breaking into places. they'll recruit her for pranks A LOT

after will becomes the head medic he locks in so hard that lou and cecil dont see him much anymore </3 they'll try to get him to take breaks but that barely works so they get a lot of alone time

if you wanna go a shippy route that is a GOOD thing to take advantage of eyes emoji

i do enjoy that dynamic but i wont lie i do enjoy them as besties more??? not siblings dynamic either just. attatched at the hip besties

like lou ellen will wingman the FUCK outta cecil in a cecellis situation

i also hc lou ellen as a trans girl a lot so in THAT scenario i love to think she came out to cecil first one night in the hermes cabin

soon after she'd tell will cause i love me some trans will and i love me some trans solidarity

It's impossible that (unconsciously at least) he didn't acquire some habits. Like his posture and keeping things tidy.

Hi! I'm the person who suggested Percy being bigender/somewhere on the gender-fluid scale, and I was was wondering what your take would be on that? I know we talked about it in the comments of the post of how you headcanoned demigods gender identity, which was a long time ago, but it would be very interesting to see. We know the ocean impacts Percy a lot, it would make sense that since the sea doesn't like to be restrained, neither does Percy's gender? Maybe he used to be aware of it when he was young but then Smelly Gabe came into his life and he had to push it down for survival mode and it doesn't come up until like he's hanging with his friends (the seven plus, maybe even his friends outside of camp halfblood like the Kane siblings) and Magnus is visiting Annabeth, and cause Magnus has that "gender ping" power he just gets alerted of Percy's pronouns that day and is like to Annabeth "hey you didn't tell me that Percy went by she/her pronouns." And Bisexual disaster Annabeth is like ".......she what now?" And that is how it goes for Percy. Magnus and Annabeth bond over being cousins who date gender-fluid disasters of chaos, and then Alex and Percy bond over dating the Chase cousins. Idk. I'd also like to see everyone's reaction to Percy being like "oh yeah I Lowkey forgot " and they ask why and Percy just offhandly mentions smelly Gabe and boom. New quest, find and graffiti a not so innocent statue.

LMAO this is fucking awesome i love thattt tbh i dont have concrete gender headcanons of ANY character, i have the ones ill lean towards when making my own content but the way i see a character depends on the fic/comic/artpiece of any kind i consume or make lmao

plus percy ironically is a character i dont think abt all that much, my favorite is Will if it wasnt super duper obvious so i tend to focus on the circle around him more often

Well, I'll be honest. There are many of us who only read Rick Riordan's books because of Solangelo. People said there was a gay couple, and that was enough to win me over. And many others too. Even in the Spanish-speaking fandom, there's a PDF that summarizes PJO, HOO, and TOA so that those who only want to read Solangelo can understand the context and just read the TOA excerpts and move on to TSATS and TCOTD (honestly, the only books I bought). And I have a printed copy because the girl at the bookstore sold it to me when I bought TSATS. There's no greater interest after that. Just the gay ship, and that's it. For most of us, we only read about gay characters, and when there's a het couple, we lose interest. And honestly, there are many of those fans who, if one of the characters is trans, don't consider them gay and lose interest immediately.

Before you come at me with moralistic speeches, they're fictional characters and aren't even entirely human. Real relationships don't interest us, so shipping isn't a movement, activism, or anything like that. They aren't real, and their lives aren't based on real things. Latinamerica has always made fun of how much people in the United States want to impose their morality on fictional characters who aren't entirely human, but who don't do anything in real life.

So yes, it's true that many would lose interest in Rick Riordan's books if they changed the gay ship. Or make them trans.
