With your undertale/deltarune agere fanfic, how does Kris fit into this? In Canon he is Toriel's kid and has Asriel as an older brother.
Is there more than one Toriel or is he also one of her kids?
Kris was holed up in an orphanage before the Barrier was broken. Since Monsters have claimed a bunch of land, he and the rest of the kids in the orphanage (now renamed Yellow Star Orphanage, based on its location in the seventh district of Star Area in Astral Sector, which probably doesn't make sense without a sort of map post) have been swept up in the expansion.
Now Ceroba is pretty much the only dedicated Caretaker of the orphanage and desperately trying to keep it together (Martlet helps and taught Kris some basic trades stuff to do the same).
SolarTale Kris has never met Toriel, Asriel, or any member of the Royal Family. He just lives in an area next to the Sector they live in and wound up becoming fast friends (eventually partners) in Kralsuselle. He doesn't even know the Royal kiddos' names (he doesn't keep up with politics)
While he remains a gremlin, much of his jadedness comes from being passed by/generally forgotten throughout his time at the orphanage, due in no small part to all the younger and easier kids being chosen and how difficult it is for a teenager to get adopted in comparison, instead of some Dess/divorce/Dark Fountains-related event completely shattering his family life.
He didn't have that family life, here, just a progressively worse mental state as he repeatedly got his hopes up only to again accept he's probably never getting adopted and would be trapped in an orphanage until he got kicked out at 18, then Monsters showed up and completely flipped his world upside-down!
