this is so clearly a vel trait. she's stubborn but she also knows how hard it is to maintain cinta's attention and affection so she's always the first to just put her pride aside to get that back. cinta can usually tell though if it's an insincere apology and then she has to determine if it's insincere because vel genuinely isn't sorry or if it's because she's the one at fault. it's a fun game

random taungsdays after the war.....well in my head they're just living a quiet life with some farm animals like on aldhani. the days all kind of blend together so they don't really even realize it's taungsday and that's preferable. get up early, take care of the animals and the chores, have a chat with mon about how things are going on the capital and jokingly invite her to walk away from all that and join them, more chores, get distracted from chores and wind up like covered in bubbles from play fighting while washing dishes or something, nap, take a walk together, etc. just a nice, slow, stress free day that repeats and repeats and repeats into all the days that follow

jesus, this could be anything. they love arguing. in fact i think they've probably argued about who loves arguing more. the text of it is that they're both trying to say the other loves it more but it only proves that they're equally matched

my joke answer was that luthen had absolutely no desire to bring vel into the circle but kleya argued on her behalf just for mon's sake. but actually i think that could be a real answer. it's not clear what vel's going to bring to the table but mon is insistent that she'd be a good asset and even though kleya doesn't know why she wants the senator's approval at first, she goes out on a limb to advocate for this cousin of hers. and then spends the next [mumble] years of her life annoyed with herself for choosing that path but hey, at least mon is happy that vel is around even when she's been separated from the rest of her family
