Yelena Belova!! What an absolutely fun character to help design for the Black Widow film! I first designed the vest for Natasha for her new “fugitive” look for Avengers: Infinity War. Years later when we were working on the early concept designs for the character I had the idea of giving the vest to Yelena as a throwback (which in turn became a throw “forward” story-wise). It’s so creatively fulfilling to be able to inject more meaning into designs even after the fact! What an absolute joy it was to paint @florencepugh & to help in the creation of Yelena! considering that Haruno is a feminine name (means born in the spring), and Giovanna being the feminine form of Giovanni (the italian variation of John, meaning “god is gracious”), Giorno meaning day and being very similar to many common italian boy names, (and unfortunately im still working on a meaning for shiobana, last names are always more research) I could see Trans Giorno headcanons working with him choosing a vaguely masculine sounding name similar to other things, and also starting off with a girls name. this is half incoherent it’s 4am and i have class in the morning.

for meee i think its been the way you draw facial features -- eyes and mouths in particular ! i can't really put into words v well but they've always been very expressive and its one of the first things i notice : ) (piercings too like that anon said hahaha)
