okay i have a take! i think sports by beach bunny is an incredibly apt season two/early three brittana song (pre officially getting together) and im going to explain why

specifically it's from santanas pov

- "why are we so complicated?/maybe love is overrated"

this is santana talking about her confusing feelings for britt vs the way she's 'supposed to' feel with guys, love is overrated referring to her feelings that boyfriends aren't worth the trouble because she never actually cares for them

- "i'm tired of waiting/i was never good at sports"

this is interesting with the context of britt and santana because they're both very athletic, but my take on it is like. santana is constantly trying to justify why she and britt shouldn't be together: it doesn't count cuz it's two girls, it's just sex, she hates talking about feelings. but all of those excuses are such obviously bullshit and stemming from fear, they're just as ridiculous as her saying that she's "not good at sports"

- "save the games for the girls on the tennis court"

to me this is similar to the obsession that santana has with golf = lesbian, like she has the idea that a "masculine" sport would out her

- "say you need me but lately you feel unsure"

this is when she tells britt she loves her and britt tells her she loves her but also loves artie and santana is incredibly hurt by that

- "if you feel broken/promise i won't break your heart"

this is when artie calls britt stupid and santana comforts her and supports her and tells her she knows she's smart

- "why are we so complicated?/loves a word ive always hated"

this is santana agreeing to come on fondue for two and announce their relationship and then being too scared, she hates the word love because she's never felt it for anyone but britt but admitting she loves her is terrifying

- "it always feels like i need more"

this is santana looking at her friendship with britt and being like holy shit we're already best friends and practical fused at the hip but i still want more, why do i still want more

- "jesus christ you're so confusing/if we keep score/bet my money that im losing"

and this is santana feeling like a failure because she's losing britt to artie, she's losing her reputation because people think she's gay, and then she loses her abuela because she came out to her

so there we go i suppose! and then of course they figure it out and they live happily ever after :)

hi guys tumblr just let me back into this account (read: i got a new laptop and completely forgot the password for this account until now)

i'm back to talk about religion (i saw someone on here talking about ocean's entire thing w/ having a bat mitzvah and confirmation and it got me thinking, i think it was @/pheliau ??)

(TW for mentions of religion, primarily catholicism for those who need it!! stay safe friends)

(im not jewish so i cannot offer any insight into that aspect of ocean's character, but i am vaguely* catholic so i will be speaking from that perspective!)

confirmation is a sorta a big deal to Catholics (???), mainly bcuz we're baptized as babies and confirmation is quiet literally confirming that baby baptism (confirmation is basically just baptism #2). that being said, did ocean ever have a baptism in the first place? her parents don't seem ultra-religious (and you don't have to be catholic to go to a catholic school), so i doubt she was baptized as a baby, which is arguably a bigger deal than confirmation (note on this: i say that confirmation isn't as big a deal because typically the baptism is the most important part, the confirmation is the other thing you have to do *eventually*, there isn't a specific age when a person is supposed to be confirmed---personally, i put it off for as long as i could because i didn't feel like going through the entire thing)

i wonder how ocean convinced St. Cassians (which is, I'm assuming, the catholic church in Uranium) to confirm her if she didn't have a baptism?? maybe she speed-ran her baptism too?? (lmao imagine you had her baptism, confirmation, and bat mitzvah in the same weekend) although, i will say, typically the process of getting confirmed is not a long one---some Catholics do sunday school for a couple of years in preparation for confirmation, but some learn a couple of prayers, do a confession, and then get confirmed. the process of the different rites varies a lot depending on the community your in

tl;dr: confirmation is not rlly /that/ big of a deal, but ocean probably had to have been baptized first, so either her parents had her baptized when she was younger OR she speedran her baptism as well as her confirmation as well as her bat mitzvah (also, i am aware that this is a joke in the show, but i think it's very interesting to think about)

*by vaguely catholic, i mean that i don't really practice catholicism? i guess it could be classified as being culturally catholic, but it is a little bit more than that. in essence, my community as a whole is very lax about religion and it's typically not discussed very often. basically, i don't formally practice catholicism but i do know a whole lot about it, but what i know about it might be specific to my community. take what i say w a grain of salt! i just love ocean a lot and want to talk about her

(i find different religions very interesting as a part of culture so i don't shy away from discussing it, but i probably won't make a habit of it! just wanted to get my thoughts out of the way)

i found out like yesterday, that people who cheat have usually a past trauma where they can’t express their anger and insecurities.

considering what rachel did, maybe she felt she wasn’t worthy of eric’s love or respect? could also be, she felt they were growing apart and the past passion wasn’t there. and considering she was in a war zone for such a long time, she thought that the hook up with nick would give her some of that security and love back?

i think, eric, in his position, would suggest they do couple counseling after house of ashes. but considering i ship kingkay, i could imagine eric and nick finding common ground. because they’re both gentle and romantic.

Not saying he has a good reason, but I think I can see why Beryl misinterpret hurting other people as a form of love. So his track record is: born in a family who practice witchcraft, being taught to be an assassin, then kill his mom, records of assassinations increased after that, etc., etc.

He's practically raised as a murderer so he acted as one. Definitely a perfect assassin. Even knowing the way Assassin of London (in London Singularity) is thinking. But that comes with the cost of not knowing how to act like a normal human.

That being said, you don't need to like him. Don't. I don't hate him but I definitely ain't going to forgive him either. I'm only trying to analyze why Beryl is being Beryl, not to make you all like him.

*Still conflicted on who might say it first but I went with Korra for this one because she’s a little more direct and still a little headstrong, while Asami is more subtle in her ways? That girl is t h i r s t y but still.

*Not related to this comic but I had a dream that Korra pulled a Harry and broke up with Asami in the third Turf Wars because she was scared that she was putting Asami in danger because she was dating the Avatar and BOI was I mad bc Korra??? No??? Just no??

*Korra’s really happy because she loves Asami and Asami loves her and it’s a relief to finally say it out loud.

*They might say it in the third comic, I would melt? Guys it’s not too early in their relationship, remember how soon it was when Makorra said I love you? Like a few weeks or a month?

*Besides these queens have loved each other way before they realized their romantic feelings, bc they loved each other as friends and it just kind of evolved? Like they didn’t just see each other and go, aha, this is the person I’m going to be with my whole life. Come on, it took them three years to actually hold hands properly. 

*Bolin and Opal made a bet on who’d say the words first. Opal won.

*Okay I see a lot of people giving crap for Mako for being a bad boyfriend and all, but like,,,stop? I mean, you can dislike him and everything but he’s basically a young adult who makes mistakes. He’s human like us, you can’t tell me you haven’t screwed up real bad at something before? Besides, it’s a learning experience, he’ll learn. 

*And why wouldn’t Mako be supportive of korrasami? They’re his two best friends and they matter a lot to him, he just wants them to be happy. He’s not a soulless monster. He’s actually just very human. Not all characters are perfect, guys. Mako’s a perfect example of this.

There are, quite a lot of things I dislike about this, to the character dynamics and how I sorta undermined the bad guys out of laziness, but mainly it’s just a fun thing to pass time and experiment on, and at the end of the day, I’m kind of happy I actually managed to get it done.
