I’m sorry, seniors. I’ve been working in the HR department, so up until now, everything looked normal. I haven’t had time to get used to supernatural weirdness. Even if you tell me something’s messed up, it’s hard to believe in a world where Santa Claus loves me.

Then again, isn’t this closer to “Santa Claus hates me”?

I have to admit it. I’m a little stressed. It’s only natural. Wouldn’t you be, if Santa Claus was out to get you?

Is this what it’s like working for the Field Exploration Team…?

You slip through the other people in the village like maybe they don’t even see you.  Not like a ghost, because ghosts can move through people instead of around them, and you still have a physical, corporeal form and still have to go around people.  You’ve knocked into a couple of people as you walk with your head hanging down, but they don’t seem to notice.

To be fair, they don’t notice you most of the time.  There are other kids in the village who are about your age, kids who you vaguely remember befriending when you were younger, but as you started spending time with Fay, your time with them had changed.  They'd forgotten you, maybe.  Funny how you’d never noticed before.

Mary laughed, lowering it again. ‟That’s for cabling.” She twisted the piece, showing the texture pattern in the piece she had been knitting. ‟It’s going to be a sweater. Feels nice, doesn’t it?” Jung In brushed his fingers lightly over the stitches; the material was soft and layered, luxurious. Mary did appreciate fine things, he thought fondly, and craft them herself; she always had, he thought, and now had a little more leeway to acquire them. ‟It’s wonderful.” Jung In agreed, drawing his hand back.

Chief said to wait outside, but nooo, Kade just had to rush in with no intel, no plan, without thinking or even telling the others. Heatwave grumbled, following his annoying, impulsive, glory-hogging, headstrong partner into the building.

Where they immediately came up against two identical humans in matching hooded jackets. Seeing them, one of the humans pointed an odd device in Kade's direction. “Sorry, we're closed,” he quipped, and a green ray shot out of the end of the device right at Heatwave's annoying partner. Heatwave's annoying, impulsive, glory-hogging, headstrong partner who he would unflinchingly take a bullet for, apparently.

Hey I just want to say that over the last month I binge listened to TAZ:B in its entirety and I started reading Party of Four even before I finished Crystal Kingdom. Now that I've heard all of it, including the live shows, and read both books, I'm going to reread PoF because I love this boy so much and you write him so well and I was a little disappointed that he didn't actually get to help THB during missions like he was supposed to. Anyways, I love your fics, especially the Angus centric ones!

I did gasp when I read that you started Po4 during Crystal Kingdom considering it starts with spoilers for Eleventh Hour! (Oops) And considering how much I lean on dramatic irony vis a vis Stolen Century.

But thanks so very much; Angus is such a fun character to write, and I’m looking forward writing Eleventh Hour and onward!

There was a very logical reason why Mu Qingfang was seeing Shang Qinghua in his private rooms with his shirt off and it had nothing to do with sex.  Not that Mu Qingfang was thinking about sex.  He was a professional doctor with no feelings about his patient at all; he was only staring intensely at Shang Qinghua’s body for sake of diagnosis.  

Diagnosis was exactly why he was carefully smoothing his hands over the other man’s midsection.  He was in no way distracted by the warm skin under his touch, muscles tensing under his fingers.  His only focus was on the well-being of his patient, as should be the focus of any diligent medical cultivator.

“Your face doesn’t look good, shidi,” Shang Qinghua said.  “Is it really bad?”

Mu Qingfang calmly took a step back.  “You’ve broken a rib.”
