Plague
God sent the four horsemen to herald the end of days. The first horseman, a conqueror came with a crown and bow on a white horse. The second horseman held in his hand a great sword on the back of a red horse. The third with a balance scale rides a black horse and the last is the gaunt horseman on a pale horse. But before the horsemen, God set upon his creation the plague of all plagues, the very last created, God set the world humans.
Born with a hunger unrivalled by all else, the purpose of humans was to consume and consume they did. They started with the plants, bending them against their will and lining them up row on row for the slaughter. And with the subjugation of the vegetation, their numbers grew. The plague stretched its hand out further and grasped the animals with a grip so tight they never escaped. Taking eyes, noses, and calves humans made sure the animals could never leave. They cut from pigs their snouts and let the blood fill their lungs. So painful it was to smell food or water that the swines never left their pens even with the gates wide open. And when they were good and fat, no more than a few months old they ripped the flesh from them and began anew with the others they bred. But the plague spread further until the plague was a plague onto itself. They set up walls to keep out the pestilence and killed those in the walls when they starved. Though they will never wipe themselves out, even viruses know better than to cut off their bloodline.
Humans are a plague that consumes all but preserves itself. Their only goal is to eat and to negate the purpose of all other life. A plant's purpose is to grow, so the farmer cuts the stalks. A cow’s purpose is to live well, so humans keep them in buildings shut out from the light and slaughter all. But to sustain the virus there must be something to eat, so they only kill a few that way there is more to suffer and more to consume.
So the only way to stop the plague is to kill it off. And like with the flood, God sent the four horsemen to herald the end of days. The first horseman, a conqueror came with a crown and bow on a white horse. The second horseman held in his hand a great sword on the back of a red horse. The third with a balance scale rides a black horse and the last is the gaunt horseman on a pale horse. And when the seventh seal is released the last created, the plague on creation will be gone.
