You'll be excited to come here at first. That's okay, they always are. Make some effort, try to last at least a month before you realize you must stay, forever.
Don't go to the train tracks alone. Bring a friend and leave before midnight. If you hear wailing cries from the mist, return to civilization immediately. Be wary of the graves you walk on.
The run down mall is the best place to visit another era. Wait until the sun hits that hazy afternoon glow, then step outside. The lot may be deserted. Look around. You are only a visitor. Your time runs out when the sun sets.
Winters are frigid and unforgiving, but those who understand them will laugh in the face of it. Hold onto that laughter. Without it, the frozen wasteland will lay claim to your soul.
The nights are eerily silent. There are eyes watching from the treeline. You may look, but don't let your gaze wander for long. Do not invite them in. Always carry a flashlight.
There is a pizzeria at the edge of town. It is closed, the paint is faded and chipping. If you enter, you will see that the animatronics are in bad shape. They may turn in your direction. That's your cue to leave. Run.
The shops on Main Street are only safe during daylight. At night, the alleys will entice you. Hidden doors bear entrance to shops that did not exist before. It is a trap. Beware the signs in flickering neon.
The junkyard is to the east, then the south. All abandoned ideas seem to coalesce here. It is a haunted place. Unmaintained, uncared for, littered with rare treasures and sharp finds. If you visit, only take what you can smuggle in your pockets. The ghosts know when one gets greedy.
People huddle at the doors of abandoned shop. Their voices are hushed and garbled. As you wait, the temptation to look closer will strike. You see that they have no faces. Turn away, quick. Step onto your bus. Do not look back.
You will forget things. Small, meaningless things. Little memories that once meant something, but now have become dust. Do you still remember your life before? Do not fear. It is the city's way of keeping you here.
