An odd silence filled the living room. Tsukishima was sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket. With one eye, he was solving the crossword in his lap and with the other, he was watching his boyfriend. During the spring cleaning, Bokuto had found several cases of old dominoes and, being a child in his soul, he found it fascinating. He also saw a ton of videos of dominoes falling in perfect circles and now he was determined to replicate it.
“What kind of people play dominoes?” Bokuto asked while laying on his stomach, trying to see if the pieces were in perfect line and on perfect distance. “Old people,” the blond said and scribbled down an answer. “I thought old people played mahjong,” Bokuto mused loudly, more to himself because Tsukishima wasn’t answering. “What do you think,” Bokuto sat up to marvel his creation, “which is harder- mahjong or dominoes?” “Depends on which one you play more.” To be honest, Tsukishima wasn’t really paying the attention to Bokuto anymore. He was scowling at the crossword- what was the capital of Zimbabwe again?
“It’s Harare,” Bokuto said, suddenly appearing behind Tsukishima and looking at the crossword. “Huh?” “H-a-r-a-r-e,” he pointed at the empty squares where the word could neatly fit in. Tsukishima turned his head to look at Bokuto, who seemed as clueless as ever. “WHAT!?” Bokuto snapped. “How did you know that?” The older boy shrugged, “It was on the quiz the other day. It sounded funny to me so I remembered it. Heh... hare.” Tsukishima made a face at that and Bokuto chuckled, pushing the wrinkles between blond’s eyebrows with his finger. “Don’t scowl. Now come!”
The crossword was ripped out of Tsukishima’s hands and tossed across the room. Bokuto jumped on the couch and pulled Tsukishima to stand on it as well, very reluctantly.
“Let us witness the magnificent fall of the Great Domino Wall!!!”
They ended up picking up dominoes until 3 am.
