This mint green and mocha-colored ball gown, designed by Cecil Beaton, was created for the 1964 film adaptation of 𝑴𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚, where it was worn by an extra during the Embassy Ball scene. The gown may be a fully original antique piece or partially constructed from antique materials—something Beaton was known to have done for this production. The gown made a brief, blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance on an extra in the beloved 1980 film 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆. In 2016, the dress was offered at auction by Profiles in History (now defunct following its partnership with Heritage Auctions) but went unsold. It was one of several specialty 𝑴𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝑳𝒂𝒅𝒚 lots released directly from the Warner Bros. Archive and was likely returned there after the auction.
