List Of Miles Kane/AM/TLSP songs I personally believe may be about Miles/Alex (don't come at me, these are theories) SO I've been pleasantly surprised with the response to my little Star Treatment as an Alex/Miles song theory - with some people even asking me to do more. I still haven't gotten to it - because quite honestly I'm not sure which song to go with next. So being the person I am I decided to first make this lil list.

And of course - as a capricorn (or a psychopath?) I color-coded it too. And even used bold in some. With the code being: ________________________________

yellow - I feel like it's one of them writing about the other, but the lyrics don't give too much to go off of orange - there's some more lyrics to go off of but still it's not so full on red - these convince me the most. There's much more material that brings to mind Alex/Miles specifically (to me) in there bold - this is just to epmhasize. As like a halfstep between colors (I'm very over the top)

Alright, if Woodvale isn't the "third album" then I am declaring it the unofficial name of the "town" that all of the Folklore and Evermore stories take place in. Why?

A) Because Woodvale isn't a real word, and when you Google it the first non-Taylor related thing that pops up is the name of a town

B) There are places called Woodvale in England, Ireland, and Pennsylvania 👀

C) Taylor herself has said she liked to imagine Dorothea, Betty, and James all went to the same school. So we know that the stories & characters in these songs can be interconnected in some way.

To clarify, I'm not talking about the obviously autobiographical ones, I'm talking about the couple in champagne problems and Dorothea and the girl from August. Woodvale is a small, charming town, full of folklore and gossip and maybe an enchanted forest where a certain songstress witch lives in a cottage covered in ivy.

so, for me, i see the song as being about the relationship with his faith. brandon hasn’t shied away from admitting he wasn’t exactly following his faith closely when they first started, so to me, sweet talk feels like it’s him reconciling that he had strayed away from his faith a bit, that he makes mistakes (“man i need a release from this troublesome mind//fix my feet when they’re stumbling”), but that he’s trying to move forward and have a better connection to his faith.

the first verse feels like it’s about him admitting he hasn’t been...the most faithful or devout, but he’s seeking forgiveness and is ready to stop letting that guilt weigh on him. but he’s also asking for help in staying faithful and not getting tempted by things that he feels are wrong.

Dig me out from this thorn tree, help me bury my shame Keep my eyes from the fire, they can’t handle the flame Grace cut out from my brothers when most of them fell I carry it well

to me, this verse is about the shame he feels straying from his faith at times, fearing the consequences of it leading to damnation. he’s not the first person who’s struggled with this: his “brothers” have also fallen at times too, but have gotten up gracefully. he’s not letting his failures define or ruin him, though, and he’s not going to be ashamed because now it’s made him stronger.

honestly i pulled these lyrics from genius and i didn’t even know he said “let his resonance light my way”?? i thought it was “its”, but if it is “his” then that really makes me feel like i’m onto something here lol. The pessimistic sufferers are all the people who don’t think he can be a mormon and a rock star, telling him what a contradiction it is, but he’s not letting it bother him anymore and is going to continue on the path he chose, finding a way to balance his job and his values. 

and as someone who personally struggles with their own faith a lot, viewing it that way just. really opened it up for me in a whole new way. is that what it’s really about? who knows! but it’s how i see it, anyway
