since the 2026 election is coming up, as well as a few special elections this year, i do think everyone should begin paying attention to their own local elections going. if there’s primaries being held, even for smaller roles such as school boards, please pay attention. make sure to research each person who is running (this to help prevent fake democrats who are secretly republican) and in general is good to be aware whats going on in ur own communities. if ur local government is putting in some guardrails amidst trump’s bs, it can definitely be some protection there.

currently i, live in a blue state and have a governor and attorney general actively fighting against trump’s policies, so i have privilege there, but its still good to try as u can to see if u can sway ur local government. many ppl already dont vote in the primaries of local elections and its good to either start raising awareness or if u have the time to volunteer for whichever candidate u support.

and keep bullying ur republican representatives if u have any!!!

I just get weary of every time a Palestinian family is helped to flee Gaza seeing that framed as a ‘success story’ or a happy ending. These people were ethnically cleansed from their homeland by Israel. That is a tragedy. It is only a ‘success’ in that they live to see another day. The conditions which were manufactured specifically to make their displacement an existential necessity should’ve never been imposed upon them in the first place. They should not have had to flee their homeland with the likelihood they will never return to escape a holocaust. I need you all to understand that. It’s a happier story, yes, but it’s still a fucking tragedy.
