fun idea! shadow starts to die slowly no one, even himself, even notices it at first but he starts getting weaker and his mind starts getting foggier and he realizes that the only way he can actually use chaos energy as usual or even function normally is if he has off one inhibitor ring he has a harder time using chaos energy and its even more painful than before, any chaos emerald he uses barely does anything either

sonics the first to notice he realizes shadow starts wearing baggy shirts in the summer he tries asking about it and gets brushed off and when shadow turns away he grabs his wrist- and freezes. theres no inhibitor ring a week or so later shadow explains

theyre in the middle of battle and shadow looks terrible, even though before hes been fine at this same point in previous battles sonics the only one who sees him take off the second inhibitor ring and shove it in his quills he doesnt tell shadow to put it back on after

sonic and shadow are watching a shitty show they started watching together and after a big plot twist sonic turns to shadow to gossip and theorize hes dead asleep softly snoring shadow has never fallen asleep somewhere aside from his desk or bed hes never fallen asleep in such a vulnerable way or place sonic calls rouge

a while after that sonic goes to shadows lab (it used to be geralds, its now shadows) shadows sitting at a desk and willingly invites sonic over he thought hed have to convince shadow to let him stay shadow says he found out why hes losing energy

his black arms dna, after dooms return and the awakening of his doom powers, is taking over the rest of him including his chaos energy and if his doom energy takes over the chaos energy, it will kill him its been killing him when the black arms dna and chaos energy fully takes over one of two things will happen

shadow becomes fully black arms. no thinking for himself. no individuality. only doing what black doom tells him to.

he dies. simple as that. the immortal shadow the hedgehog gets killed by the thing that gave him life

by the time he fully figures out whats happening he has a few months at most 2 weeks at least

shadow gives sonic a doom spear incase he turns into a black arms someones gonna have to kill him

IDEA I HAD AT HMART

ok so i was thinking. what if marketable shadow plushy but its like poppy playtime smiling critters esque (this eventually came to envelop a lot of the general sonic cast)

his scent: cherry

sonics scent: green apple

tails’ scent: blueberry

knuckles’ scent: grape

amys scent: strawberry

big the cats scent: i said dragonfruit but honestly that was dismissed lowk it can be anything guys..

that one squirrel or raccoon girl from that one sonic show whos name might be ‘sticks’ or at least my brother thinks so’s scent: wood

creams scent: vanilla

rouges scent: blackberry

and for anyone who cares. yes i brainstormed this out loud and yes there were people nearby and yes this is because i watched the movie this morning and am constantly thinking about it

Uhhhh do you think that mobians have a class system? I'm making an au where it's more like an Archie themed plot for an idwish story but what would the class systems be and why would they be used?

I'm making the less used species the more minority groups and mammals at the top. So far this is MY interp of the class system for the universe.

I'm still working out kinks but this is the idea so far!!

1. Mammals (most of the population and heroes, usually also rulers or has lots of power)

2. Birds (I always wanted to put birds next I cannot tell you why I have no idea(mostly bc of their history))

3. Insects (they're usually in some sort of power positions (chamy being a prince and jewel taking care if restoration back then))

4. Aquatic animals (also have power roles in the post reboot timeline of Archie, underwater rulers exist)

5. Lizards (not as high in ranking, usually some can get power but they are general unseen or have some sort of financial issues. Very rare to find in general)

5. amphibians (I could be wrong but most interps haven't shown the same kind of power for this species yet. Probably bc they're rarely used in canon)

Sonic the hedgehog is just my fandom in law but I keep thinking about tails being one of the foxes that change colors in the winter- like I’m imagining that at the 1st time Sonic would panic or think something’s wrong because tails is shedding a lot and turning pale but then it turns out he’s just getting fluffier for winter. Idk might be nothing but I like the thought.

Yo wait what if rings in Sonic were literally energy

No- I know that they are canonically energy

I mean like what if they’re not made of metal, they’re made of visible energy looping around small and random gravitational spaces at such a high velocity that they look solid to the naked eye

It’s why they also just vanish when disturbed, because the energy pulled to that specific gravitational point is disrupted and disperses. If a living being (or anything else that consumes energy) is the one disrupting it, the energy immediately flows into them as the next closest pull aka “path of least resistance”. They also flicker out of existence when dropped, vanishing (or rather dispersing) into thin air

It’s also why there’s a ring limit, because the body can only handle so much extra energy

Also, it’s why rings can “respawn” because over time, ambient energy in the environment are slowly sucked back to those gravitational pulls, restarting the cycle. The energy can be dispersed and disturbed, but given enough time, it will regain its natural shape

Disclaimer: I don’t actually know how science works. My knowledge is high school level. Also i don’t think “gravitational” is the correct word here. Maybe “magnetic”?
