I'm intermittently reminded that Sonny and Nightcall have almost a 1:1 identical artstyle. never found out if it was an inspiration, or if they're both cribbing from a completely separate source.

I really want to write a fanfic set in the Sonny universe now...
Playing Sonny 2 again.
Forgot how fucking snarky and wonderful Roald is
"Your membership fees are too high. I'd rather kill you."
10/10 A++
*rolls around angrily* the baron is literally 6 levels lower than me and I'm doing the right thing to kill him. So why can't I beat hiiiiiiiiiiiiim??? :C
How is it possible that a mere flash game could be as legit as this? I've spent more hours on this game and it's sequel than I care to admit.
After all that, I'd be a Psychopath as Well...
Ok, so in my first review, I talked about Sonny. And I only did that because it doesnt feel right to start with the sequel. So today, we will be talking about the best flash game ever. Of all time. Sonny 2.
Quick Stats:
Host Site: ArmorGames.com
Developer: Krin Juangbhanich (SO sorry for forgetting this in the pervious post!)
Genre: RPG
Approx Length: 4-8 Hours
So, as perviously mentioned, this is the sequel to Sonny, picking up a month or two after the first game left off. Sonny still hasn't figured out what's on the tape he recieved from Louis the Blind in the first game, or why he's being hunted by the ZPCI...
PROS:
Gameplay:
Similar to the first game, combat is turn based, and you use skills from an 8-slot wheel to battle your opponents. The game improves on gameplay in two ways.
It has three dificulty levels, with Easy being the same as the difficulty level for the first game. Challenging offers a slightly more difficult game, with a smarter AI (Artificial Inteligence, if you've been living under a rock for the past few years). Heroic is the hardest of all levels, with the smartest AI, and a time limit to each round. the hardest part of this difficulty is not the enemies, but the fact that you can no longer sit around and strategize for hours on end.
Three new classes. The Psychopath, The Biologic, and The Hydraulic. Best feature is that all three have unique skill trees, making the game easily replayable.
The other advantage to the three new classes are the different playstyles that each offer.
The Bio and Hydro are very similar in the fact that both are fairly straight forward, and easy to play as for new players. Bio focuses on Physical and Poison damage, Strength stat, and lots of Heath. (Or in MMO terms, a Tank). The Hydro is Ice based, and a combination of Strength and instinct. The difference between Hydro and Bio is that Bio is an all offence class, whereas the Hydro can either be an offensive or defensive build. The Hydro is also unique to the ArmorGames version, meaning you cant play as the Hydro on a different site.
The third class is for advanced players only, and honestly, the BEST build I have ever seen in ANY RPG. The Psychopath deals High Instinct, Shadow and Electric damage. Due to how the level up works, the Psycho and Bio have the ability to use two different damage types, but for best results, should only focus on a single element. The reason I like Psycho so much is due to it's Glass Cannon build. It does high damage to EVERYTHING. Opponents, allies, even itself. The tree even requires you to get a health-draining skill in order to use the high level Shadow skills. the one thing i can even come close to complaining about is the fact that most of his attacks require either a lot of Focus (Or Mana, in more general terms,) or require the target to have an active shadow buff. This has led to my saying that The Psychopath takes a long time to get his ass in gear, but when he does, his ass is IN. GEAR. Easilly the most fun class to play as in the Trilogy as it stands today. Krin, you had better include a Psychopath-esque build in Sonny 3 or im gonna be pissed.
Story:
The story is once again solid, picking up more or less where the first game left off. Again, i dont want to spoill anything, so i shall simply say that Sonny 2 does a nice job of furthering the story, and also explaining just exactly what in the name of Hew is going on.
Cast:
The cast of Sonny 2 remains much as it was in the first game, with the return of the dynamic duo Sonny and Veradux. You get two additionall party members, one of which joins you in zone 2, the other in zone 5. oddly enough, the Zone 5 companion was the Zone 1 boss... Hmm...
The game has its fair share of difficult villians, first and foremost being Baron Brixius, once again, featuring as a Mini-Bos instead of a zone boss, for some reason... Anyway, i dont want to spoil too much, so you'll have to go check out the game yourself.
CONS:
Great game, the link to play it.... seriously though, i cant find a bad thing about this game WHAT SO EVER. Amazing game.
Gameplay: 10/10
Story: 10/10
Cast: 10/10
Overall: 30/30
