Martin and Lewis - “If I Didn’t Care” (with Sonny King)
Hilarious :))))
Myron Cohen, Sonny King and Dean Martin at Leon and Eddie’s, 33 West 52nd Street NYC, in 1945.
Sonny King said: “When Dean Martin and I lived together in a small apartment, we used to charge guys five bucks to see us fight. They'd come up to our room and we’d box five rounds. One time, after the bell rang, I turned my back to Dean. He punched me hard in the back and I went flying out the fifth-floor window. Fortunately, I grabbed the venetian blinds and hung out the window on them. When I pulled myself up, my chest got scrapped up and bloody. All the time this was happening, I could hear Dean laughing. When I pulled myself back up inside, I was so mad that I beat the hell out of Dean. His face was so puffed up that he couldn’t sing at the nightclub he was at, so I took his place. But I got fired because I couldn’t sing in Dean’s key.
