Hey everyone! You might have noticed that I deleted this post a couple days ago. That was because when I uploaded it Tumblr kept giving me an error message saying it couldn’t upload it and that it would try again. Then it would try again a few minutes later and give me the same message over and over again. So I decided to delete the post and reupload it when I was at my desktop. So here it is again, all of the Ninjago season posters I’ve done leading up to Hunted!

Lloyd’s Character Season 8

It seems like there’s quite a bit of discussion regarding Lloyd post episode 82, and I thought I might throw in my two cents. We know that Lloyd is really hurt over Harumi’s deception and betrayal. That much is heavily implied. At the end of episode 82 misako says that his only mistake was being too trusting, or in other words naive. He reply’s with “Not anymore”. The music gets ominous and he is cold and dismissive of Harumi’s attempts to appeal to his good nature. Now the two schools of thought seem to be either, Lloyd is just going to more carful from now on and that this new side of him won’t be explored much more in depth this season, or OH MY GOSH LLOYDS GONE DARK( he’s going to be cold and rude to everyone including the ninja). I occupy somewhere inbetween these two. I don’t think that he is going to do a complete 180 from his original character.( I sure hope not) instantly being cruel and hurtful ESPECIALLY to the ninja would not do his character arc justice and it would feel cheep and 1 dimensional. I do however think that his emotional is far from over. He is a teenager. At the very least he’s 14 and he’s emotions are 10 times more extreme than we’re in past seasons. If he doesn’t get pushed over the edge and snap at least once at the ninja I would be surprised. He’s gonna go to the extreme for a quick min and then he’s gonna need to realize that this is exactly what happened to Harumi. She was hurt, and she translated that into taking that out on others. The difference between Harumi and Lloyd is gonna be how he deals with overcoming his innocent naïveté and past trauma and consciously turning it into something good. Yes you can say that up until this point Lloyd has had way more traumatic events in his life than Harumi did, and you would be right. The difference is that in this season the writers are actually drawing ATTENTION to it rather than sweeping it under the rug. Which I greatly prefer. It’s a great lesson for young teens. Perfect for the new demographic of the show. I may be wrong, but this is just my opinion. Feel free to start a discussion with me! I love talking about ninjago!
