I didn’t realize it was Nosy’s birthday! 😲 Sophronia would like to wish him a happy birthday! She has sent a card and a present—meticulously arranged shiny coins in piles. It is up to him to see which ones are real and which ones are chocolate.
Dear Nosy,
It appears today is your birthday, so please accept my most sincere birthday wishes. You are the most adorable fluffy minion of chaos I’ve ever seen and you do most wonderfully at ruling over everyone. These coins may not be much, but please accept them as a tribute from a distant but loyal follower.
Sincerely,
Sophronia
Nosy blinked down at the card first, tilting his head at the unfamiliar scrawl. He gave it a single sniff, poked it once, twice, then turned away with a dismissive huff. Boring.
But then his eyes went as wide as saucers the moment he spotted the glittering piles before him.
Coins! Beautiful, glorious, glittering, shiny coins! Piles of them! The little Niffler squeaked in delight, tail already waggling as he launched himself at the nearest stack and grabbed one extra sparkly coin eagerly, his tail wagging so furiously he nearly toppled backwards - only to stop dead.
Sniff sniff.
His nose wrinkled. Something smelt... sweet?
Nosy squinted suspiciously as he gave the edge a good nibble - and froze.
Chocolate.
The teal menace dropped dramatically onto his bum, the betrayal too much to bear. His head drooped low, defeated. His spirit crushed under the cruel weight of dashed expectations. He stared miserably at the fake coin clutched in his paws.
But after a long, sulky pause, Nosy gave the chocolate a cautious, tiny lick. Then another.
Actually… it wasn't that bad. It wasn't gold, but it was chocolate. And not the bad kind either. The Niffler gave the coin another, much more enthusiastic lick. Maybe he'd been too hasty. He wasn't happy about being tricked, but he wasn't so heartbroken anymore either. Perhaps this wasn't the worst betrayal after all.
